For a very reasonable price we had a giant room, beautifully appointed, in elegant surroundings (yes you do want the park view, not the ocean view). This hotel is a complete shambles... and in a slum to boot... with no local restaurants... no local bars... We arrived to be shown to our sea view room...a sea view across a building site and the local concrete factory... room was ok... free minibar with beer/water/tonic... First, let me say that we had a wonderful trip to Mt Vesuvias and the ruins in Herculaneum. But..................... Be prepared when you get off the train in Ercolano. It's one step above a slum. Very elegant surroundings and a great view of vesuvius from the room window. If you can look past the busy main road, the graffiti and the ghetto type surroundings on the doorstep then you'll probably feel at home here.
