Briefly Best thing about hotel and what you are paying for is the location in the park and the view which is awesome weather permiting. Staff, food, guides all good. Spa ok, but could maintain outdoor whirlpools better. A coupe of days, they had an unpleasant odor. Glacier Grey hike/boat ride great. Towers hike more of challenge than enjoyable unless... more

Explora Salto Chico is a very special place. Yes, it's quite a hike to get there, but it's totally worth it. Incredible hiking, spectacular landscape...amazing, amazing. It feels like camp for adults, but in a good way. If you enjoy socializing while you're on vacation, then it will be a fun experience for you to meet interesting people from all... more

The overwhelming and enduring beauty of some parts of the planet are such that they defy description. Torres Del Paine and the Explora hotel are one such. The best I can do is this. An astronomer will tell you that the light pollution free night skies over this place are ideal for stargazing. They may well be right, but if... more

My husband, 4-year-old and I had a wonderful time at Hotel Salto Chico in Patagonia. Yes, it was hard to get to. No, it does not have the ammenities found at the Four Seasons Hotel in NYC. But it was an experience I will never forget and hope my daughter will always remember. Most importantly, if you think you can't... more

Spectacular sunrises, towering peaks, wind whipped waters, fantastic clouds, brilliant rainbows…and that was just the view from our room (a spacious Suite Exploradores with two large windows framing the view...the upgrade is worth the cost)! This is a lodge for those who enjoy hiking and horseback riding. There are few activities for more sedentary travelers. During our 10 day stay... more

Fabulous place - spectacular location, quintessential service, great excursions with wonderful guides and drivers, excellent food and Chilean wines, open bar, heated indoor pool, amazing views of the Paine Massif from every window. At $1000 per night for a minimum 4-night stay, this is incredibly good value! Everything is included in the price, including 5-hour transport from Punta Arenas airport... more

Explora is the best hotel in Torres del Paine - a 5 hour drive from Punta Arenas. TDP is one of the last places on earth that you can safely drink the water from the mountain meltwater streams. It is a remote wilderness area, with fantastic wildlife (condors, guanacos, birdlife etc). It is not a luxury hotel in NYC. I... more

It is hard to separate my opinions on the quality of the hotel from an appreciation of its stunning location. Would this be a great hotel if it were located in the middle of a city? To separate the two is, ultimately, an impossible and fruitless exercise. The hotel is designed and run to allow the greatest possible enjoyment of... more

What can I say? We were lucky enough to stay at the Explora for 8 nights as part of our honeymoon thanks to the generosity of my parents. Normally, we are the sort of travellers who stay at small pensions and nice b&bs, so the whole luxury hotel thing was a new experience for us. So, on the one hand,... more

Explora Patagonia is the place to go if you love to be out in nature - walking or riding - by day , to then come back to a comfortable place with a great view while you drink good wine and eat a good meal in the evening. A recent reviewer complained of nothing to do during the day -... more
