This is a hotel that could trade solely on the basis of its location (which is unsurpassable) but does not. In every area it aspires to be a ‘great’ hotel and it succeeds to an extent that is almost incomprehensible when one realises how far it is from anywhere. The transfer from the airport ensures that you have no illusion... More

The views from lodge were spectacular, including condors who perched on the cliff opposite the dining room .... The staff were friendly and helpful, even though there were a fairly large number of guests. The guides were fantastic and enthusiastic, and the walks catered for a variety of abilities and preferences. The rooms facing the lake and mountains are worth... More

My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at Explora Patagonia and every minute of our stay far exceeded our expectations. The setting is unparalleled. The hotel is elegant and welcoming. The staff and service are incredible. The guides and the other guests also made the trip wonderful. Everyone is there to experience Torres del Paine and the Explora offers... More

The main attraction here is the outstanding location right in the Torres del Paine park. The setting truly is spectacular. We found the young activity guides to be uniformly charming, knowledgable, helpful and eager to please. The hotel is basically well run and orderly, which it should be given the price. This was my second visit to Torres del Paine... More

Best trip we've had in a while. Staff at hotel were exceptional. Just need to ask for whatever you need. Stayed in room #11 which offered great views of the mountains (especially Paine Grande). Snowed once at the hotel and again in the mountains but weather at this time of the year was perfect for the hiking. Start with the... More

We actually travelled there in 2004, but will never forget it, as it was so spectacular. You cannot believe or duplicate that experience. I will whole heartedly recommend it as one of the greatest places you will ever travel and visit.

My wife and I could not have had a better Torres Del Paine experience than the one provided by Explora. This hotel ticks all the boxes. It is expensive while we initially baulked at the price we both felt we had great value. The big advantage explora has over its competition is that it is in the park. No two... More

The rooms are super comfortable, cozy beds, great view, great shower, nicely decorated. The building, the common areas and the dining room are all comfortable and cozy. The... More

They gave us 100% satisfaction in every aspects the Explora provided with. Thank you all guys in Explora both at Salto Chico and at Atacama for excellent... More

Arrived with party of 15 after weeks of travel thru Amazon (Peru) and Argentinian Patagonia…this was an absolutely perfect conclusion to our trip! 5* food, service, accomodations, views and excursions. Hotel bent over backwards to accomodate requests, dietary restrictions and excursion desires. Views were outstanding from our rooms, dining halls and spa area. Guides were bubbly, helpful and knowledgeable. Evening... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our lodge is located right in the heart of the extraordinary Torres del Paine National Park in southern Patagonia. The diverse and untouched landscapes of this area led UNESCO to declare it a biosphere reserve. Our Patagonia hotel lodge opened in 1993 on the banks of the Salto Chico waterfall. It affords an excellent view of the unique Paine Massif and two of the three impressive torres, or towers, which give the park its name. The lodge has 49 rooms and a variety of inviting spaces. Situated on a 3-hectare (7.4-Acre) site, the design borrows certain organic forms from the landscape itself, adapting to it with simple elegance. It was designed to create a dialogue with its environment, putting human beings in touch with the sublimity of their surroundings. For travellers, the lodge provides the welcome surprise of comfort in a remote area. Nonetheless, you are not isolated from nature, but rather placed "within" it. ... more   less
