My husband and I stayed here as part of a National Geographic tour of Patagonia. It is one of the most amazing hotels, in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The views are absolutely breathtaking! We were fortunate enough to be there on some of the clearest days of the year, and the views we got of the... More

Reading reviews and articles cannot prepare you for the stunning beauty of Torres del Paine. We visited in late autumn when it was very quiet. The staff were all so friendly and the guides were so knowledgeable. The lodge is all inclusive, has to be really as it is all alone in the park. That doesn't mean they skimp on... More

It's not often you actually shed a tear when you leave a hotel but I can honestly say that our visit to Explora Patagonia and to the Torres Del Paine national park was so special I cried when I left! We were the very first guests to arrive after the mid winter closure and we were greeted like family members... More

I had been to Chile several times and been told to go to Torres del Paine. So I finally decided to do it with my wife. We knew it was a national park and that the main activity would be hiking. We like the outdoors, but are by no means aggressive adventure vacationers. And since this hotel is one of... More

We spent a week at Explora in May. Everything about it was wonderful and exceeded our high expectations. The time of year meant the hotel was not full - only about 10 guests - so we were spoiled with very personal service. The maximum on any hike at any time is 8, and for some of ours, it was a... More

It began with being received at the airport by a very attentive driver who took us a very long way from the airport to the hotel. There was another couple in the van who spoke in German so we didn`t interact until we stopped for lunch and sat face to face so we all spoke in english. The fact is... More

This was mine and wife's first trip through South America and The Explora in Salto Chico was without a doubt the highlight of our ten day trip. On the first day we arrived we were out hiking and enjoying the beautiful vistas in the area with a personal guide. We got back to the hotel and enjoyed one of the... More

The rooms all have great views, very nice appointments with local stone accents, and comfy beds. The staff is very helpful and will get you anything you need. The food is very good (not amazing, but hey, you're in the middle of nowhere), and the day trips are terrific. And something else we've not experienced anywhere else: every night before... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our lodge is located right in the heart of the extraordinary Torres del Paine National Park in southern Patagonia. The diverse and untouched landscapes of this area led UNESCO to declare it a biosphere reserve. Our Patagonia hotel lodge opened in 1993 on the banks of the Salto Chico waterfall. It affords an excellent view of the unique Paine Massif and two of the three impressive torres, or towers, which give the park its name. The lodge has 49 rooms and a variety of inviting spaces. Situated on a 3-hectare (7.4-Acre) site, the design borrows certain organic forms from the landscape itself, adapting to it with simple elegance. It was designed to create a dialogue with its environment, putting human beings in touch with the sublimity of their surroundings. For travellers, the lodge provides the welcome surprise of comfort in a remote area. Nonetheless, you are not isolated from nature, but rather placed "within" it. ... more   less
