This hotel was really nicely situated, had friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. My friend and I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. The beds were very comfortable and the staff were very helpful, telling us all about how to get to the local attractions, up Mt. Aso and how to enjoy the town. They also had... More

Facilities are great, all you can have within a single hostel, including great toilets and kitchen. You have all the toiletries, including hand cream! For kitchen, it's fully stocked with the cutleries and a nespresso machine (pay-per-use, sorry). Extremely clean, although the toilets can seem a bit plasticky. Owners are very knowledgeable about the area, although they can seem a... More

This backpackers is great - the hosts are very welcoming and helpful, the place is very efficiently run, the common area is very cosy, there is a lovely little verandah for evening drinks, and everything is spotlessly clean. All in all a great place to stay in Mt Aso and very highly recommended.

It is the best backpackers hostel I have ever stayed at. You will never forget the unique atmoshere, cosy rooms, tidy facilities. Although some rooms do not have doors, your privacy is highly respected. If you need any advice or help, you will be given there. Definitely, they will make your stay unforgettable.

Have stayed here twice, once with friends and once with family visiting, and was not disappointed either time! One of the best hostels I have been in hands down. If you visit in the winter the wood stove in the common area is always going, and the hostel itself is so welcoming. Great reading corners, spotless and fully stocked kitchen,... More

This hostel well deserves all the good reviews. It was such a treat to stay here! One of the cleanest, warmest, most charmingly and well-designed hostels there could ever be. It was a relaxing delight to stay at - even the hand soap smelt of peach! And the kitchen... well, I think you just need to visit it!!

From the minute we walked into this exceptionally well appointed hostel, it felt like home. Arriving early, we let ourselves into the common area and were greeted to the warmth of a wood-fired heater which was a welcome relief from the cold. The sofas and elevated tatami matt were comfortable and a wonderful place to relax. Yoshi and his wife... More
