Just one night in the Cherry Inn but it was lovely! Near the market square in Taiping, a gorgeous little town off the beaten path. Rooms are very spacey and clean, the owner is ready to help with basic informations, but unfortunately not with more than that. Still worth it's (average) price!

This inn is not easy to locate although it is directly opposite the King Edward V11 primary school because the ground floor (front of the building) is rented out to a computer shop. The signboard is actually placed at the side of the building as it's a corner lot. The building is painted sort of peach-light brown. The building at... More

Arrived and it looked good from the outside, a handful of grapes was thrust at me (lovely) the room was fine, once we'd got rid of the cigarette smell, until the chiller units for the fruit storage started up! On and off all night, and very loud. He offered to swap us from 70RMY to a 60 RMY room which... More

Clean inn and friendly caretakers/owners. Location is central and good value for money. We paid RM70 per night for a en-suite room, there are ones with shared bathrooms and others (RM100) which had two king size beds in a larger sized rooms. No breakfast. Free wifi and water cooler facilities. If you drive there, the caretaker will help watch you... More

I write this from the Inn itselfas I happen to be looking for where to head next in Perak I thought I may as well... Cherry Inn is exactly what you're looking for if you want a quiet, very clean, comfortable and wifi enabled sleeping spot. I use the room to scope out the town and hit the zoo. As... More

This is not the Ritz or anything similar but a nice, clean basic hotel in the centre of town. Rooms are clean and functional and there is a nice lounge area where you can relax. Breakfast was not included in the rate (about £16.50 for double with en suite) but there are plenty of places nearby where food can be... More

I arrived in Taiping without any plans for where I would stay, which is pretty normal for me, but unlike most cities I visited, finding a decent budget place to lay my head proved a challenge. I wandered around town and checked out rooms at a handful of hotels, some recommended by my guidebook, some not, without finding anything I... More
