There is something about Lake Toya that always intrigued me. First time I saw it was in 35,000ft from the aircraft window. It is a beautiful crater lake. Year past from that day and my dream came true. There are a few Ryokans/hot springs hotels to stay in the lake side town of Toyako but The Windsor is perched on... More

Going on a trip to Lake Toya, Hokkaido, was a pleasant and relaxing trip. Let our mind drifted away by the fresh air and beautiul view. It is best when we see them all from the top of the hill, and I believe The Windsor is the only hotel on top of the hill. Superb location! While there was not... More

What a pleasant surprised and impressive hotel. From the time we arrived until we checked out 5 days days later, we had a great stay. Most of the staff was excellent and friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. The rooms are spacious and the view is amazing to wake up to in the morning and all... More

This hotel is a half an hour drive up the hill from Lake Toya, but it was so worth it. I was impressed right from the moment we drove into the hotel's main entrance. We were ushered in and greeted by the hotel staff who had with them a list of guests arriving that day and hence, were already expecting... More

I stayed here with family for 2 nights during Christmas 2014. It is beautiful as it's shown in the picture! We spent 3 days in the hotel without going anywhere because of its location and weather condotion. Check-in: We arrived at 11:30am too bad the check-in time is 3:00pm. Room: I got the room with lake view around 32 sqm.... More

It's worth the trip to visit The Windsor perched on a hilltop overlooking Lake Toya. It's a 5 + star hotel/golf resort in the middle of nowhere with amazing décor & restaurants. We only did a day trip so can't comment on the accomodation side of the hotel.

Love it - Love it - Love it!!! We have driven here every year for the last three years or more just to experience the fantastic view & service of this hotel restaurant - right on the top level of the hotel. Winter drive is an experience in itself! Every time (being in winter) we have been the only ones... More

A great location far from the city life with a grand view of Toya lake on one side and the ocean on the other side. It is an hour drive from Niseko which for me the best Ski resort in this part of the world. The hotel has around 400 rooms and it is sparkling clean. The decoration is very... More

Yes, this property is in a very remote area, but it is really spectacular. I only stayed one night, but because I arrived in the late afternoon I was able to enjoy some of its facilities: unfortunately the teppanyaki restaurant was fully booked, so I opted for the soba restaurant, which was very nice (food, service and decor); then I... I reached here at around 8 pm and got out from the hotel the next day at around 9 am. Most of the facilities are already closed by the time I have time to explore (mall, cake shop, chapel). too bad since I really wanted to see the chapel. The bad weather also making us not able to enjoy the... More
