The Windsor Hotel @ Lake Toya was definitely "over the top", I have stayed at many lavish hotels throughout my travels. This hotel surpassed all of them. The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The staff was wonderful, however very few speak English. The food was magnificent, rooms were great, the public bath was lovely, free slippers, lovely assortment of teas... More

The moment we stepped into Windsor, the view blew us away at reception hall. The music in the hall was tranquil, serene with the backdrop against lake toya. It felt good to be on top of a mountain. The air was fresh and it was nice to take a walk around. The outdoor onsen was great except that women and... More

The views from this hotel is breathtaking, the lobby area of the hotel is my favorite spot to hangout...well besides my room offcource....the lake and mountains surrounding the hotel makes this place so gorgeous. The room is big, comfortable bed, with bvlgari bathroom amenities....makes you want to take showers or dip in to the tub again and again....hahaha. Have I... More

The hotel has an excellent reputation and hosted the G-7 meeting a couple of years ago, so I guessed if it’s good enough for heads of state, it’s probably good enough for me! The setting is stunning, and the lobby takes full advantage of that, with huge expanses of glass showcasing Lake Toya on the one side and the view... More

This hotel is majestic! The lobby has soaring ceiling and glass panels, offering jaw dropping views of Lake Toya. Grand sweeping stairs. A beautiful onsen with both indoor and outdoor areas, and if you're lucky you'll spot a red fox who comes up to the lobby area from time to time. And don't worry, it's safe because it's behind a... I've stayed at different onsen hotel in Toya from my past trip. Western style hotel and modern interior design. This is by far the best onsen hotel ever! Excellent location, up in the mountain. Best view of the Toya Lake, the Sea area and also the Yoteizan mountain which is known as the Hokkaido mt Fuji. three different view all... More

It's located on the top of the hill with beautiful view with Lake Toya. Hotel staff are so friendly and helpful. Western-style breakfast is great. Swimming pool and hot springs are really recommended. The only flaw in my stay is that I chose its restaurant Pizzeria as my dinner which was awful.

One of the worst service 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in !!! The hotel itself is gorgeous, but as much as a gorgeous hotel can be, what does it worth if service is not good...? I have booked 2 rooms at this hotel. 2 single rooms. Each room was approximately $350 Amenities in the rooms are very poor... More

We got a deal for a three-night stay. At first we wondered if three nights was too much to be staying at Lake Toya, especially since we had already visited on a previous occasion. However, there was not only quite a bit to see at and around the hotel (the grounds were beautiful and even exploring the hotel became a... More

To get to the hotel from the JR Toyako Station, do reserve a shuttle bus from the hotel before hand. It does not cost anything and the route will travel to: JR station > Toyako Onsen Town > Gondola > Windsor Hotel. Total trip will take about 40 mins. This hotel is situated on a mountaintop and you will be... More
