I wouldn't rush to stay in this hotel again but it wasn't terrible. Good things: 1) the staff in the restaurants are lovely and smiling, particularly in the downstairs restaurant. 2) the public onsen on the top floor is gorgeous, particularly the open-air baths, I spent many happy hours there. 3) it was good value as dinner and breakfast was... Location is great our room faces the beautiful Lake Toya. Reasonable price for family whom wish to try Japanese Onsen experience without burning a big hole in your pocket, though facility is old. Room is rather large for a Japanese hotel and our family of four njoyed the Japanese experience of wearing yukata and sleeping on the tatami, and waking... More

Facility is old but it locates in the waterfront of the lake. Great view from the hotel room. You can see the firework show from 8.45pm to 9.05pm from the window. The buffet is good but only the service of the restaurant disappointed me a bit. The waitress never clean up the dishes but only want to do it once... More

I got a room big enough for 2 man. Sleeping on a tatami is a new experience for me (it won't be that comfortable for some people tho). They provided extras mat and blankets that is good because the time I stayed the weather quite cold. The buffet dinner is quite enjoyable, they serve draft beer for additional charge (I... More

The room is considerably ok for 2 adults 2 kids. They only hv 2 single beds in the room and 2 of us will be using the tatami. It's good experiences for the kids. They enjoyed wearing the yukata. The room that we had faced the lake toya. Very beautiful. Good place to relax and enjoy.

The breathtaking view at the Kohantei is awesome! The bath area is consider big for a hot spring hotel, even the outdoor bath area have a few pools to offer. The lobby provide free wifi, meals were alright & acceptable, the room are the usual Japanese size & style. Overall, it's good if not we won't stay here twice. :-)

It's our second time to Toya Lake. Last time we stayed at Manseikaku 10 years ago. The room here is normal, but bathroom space is a little tight. The decoration is old and It has some smell in room. However, the dinner in room is pretty good. Tasty and full. Considering the price, this is still a good choice to... More

We spent 2 nights. Buffet breakfast and dinner included. Good buffet spread but some of the food are a bit cold. Reasonable rates. Rooms are big. We share 3 people to a room. Choose a room with lake view. Rooftop onsen with beautiful lake view.

We booked a room with lake facing view which was a great choice as we had a panaromic view of the lake. During the nightly fireworks, you can enjoy the beautiful displays from the comfort of your room. The room was large and comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast had good spread.

I had a wonderful experience in the traditional Japanese style room. The hotel has a wonderful firework view. If you booked a room facing the lake, you may watch the firework in comfort from the room, otherwise you can just watch it from outside of the lobby while enjoying a hot spring footbath in open air. The hotel is a... More
