If you are looking to experience the Japanese way of sleeping. This accommodation will give you the experience. The place is old but fairly well maintain. Common toilet. You need to get yr own kettle from a common area. I was looking forward to the onsen and was totally disappointed. The female side only has one hot pool as the... More

We stopped at Daiwa Ryokan one night during our trip in Hokkaido. We didn't like Toyako - it seems to be a deserted lake-side resort. Everything looks worn out, and this is especially true for Daiwa Ryokan. Dubious cleanliness of bed sheets and no bathroom in the room.

We are a family of five, drived all the way from mid-Hokkaido, this ryokan has its own parking. I myself really enjoyed japanese styled room and onsen, but my parents din't appreciate much, especially my mom, she cant accept the onsen, the only choice for bathing in ryokan as there is no personal bathroom in the rooms. Well, despite that,... More

If you are in Toyako Lake area and you think Windsor Hotel is outrageous (which we thought but made a hotel tour from curiosity)and you have truthful curiosity to experience an old Japanese Inn(ryokan) with public Onsen bath, Daiwa Ryokan is the perfect answer. This B&B was built more than 50 years ago but very well maintained and run by... More
