Imagine a picture perfect small tropical island with soft cool white sand, brilliant turquoise waters and gently moving palm trees, that's Chaaya Lagoon. From the UK it takes two planes (approx. 12/13 hours flying time) and finally a 45 min sea plane (not to be missed - take ear plugs if you have sensitive ears.) Best time to arrive is... More

We arrived back home today after spending 3 weeks at this resort. It is a stunning place to chill. The food is very good in 3 weeks we never had a bad meal. Roubel the salad chef and his friend make the best salads. And Ravi the master pancake and fried breakfast maker is always so happy and talks to... More

Just a tip re booking the Maldives. We didn't know there are various levels of all inclusive, it can make big difference' so all inclusive doesn't necessarily mean all inclusive. Chaaya Lagoon is a lovely island and has a wonderfully relaxed feel. The food is fantastic and the staff great, they work incredibly hard and have a genuine smile. We... More

The island, its surrounding ocean, and the weather - save for a spectacular tropical storm, which was itself worth seeing - were idyllic; the food was enormously varied and uniformly excellent; and the staff, with one or two exceptions, were really friendly and very helpful. The water bungalow we stayed in was wonderfully positioned,,,,but like a lot of the properties... More

We stayed at the resort beginning of March. After a long journey, Manchester to Dubai and then the sea plane, it was a complete joy to walk down the boardwalk to the resort with the breath taking colours of sea and sky. The room was ready for us straight away even though we arrived in the morning. We had an... More

An unbelievable experience. All very easy from arriving in Male. Straight through to the Sea Plane check in - grab a bottle of water if you can - it's pretty warm waiting there!!! The sea plane terminal is a short bus transfer away, quite surreal sitting watching the dozens of Twin Otter planes coming and going - rather like a... More

Our expectations were only surpassed by the reality of our experience. Everything we experienced was a joy and we were continually surprised by the variety of fish we encountered below our superb Water Bungalow, from Puffer Fish to Reef sharks and many varieties of Trigger Fish. The staff were excellent the food was exceptional and we were treated to meal... More

I would not normally start a review by commenting on the few negative points made by a handful of others but on this occasion i think it needs doing. #not worth the money. What money are these folks paying? We had a week in March all inclusive in a water bungalow for just over two grand each,an absolute bargain imo.I... More

Better Late than never........ We travelled here Jan 14 for 2 weeks. What a stunning location, excellent views from seaplane travelling to the resort, large airy rooms, fantastic fish to see on the snorkelling excursions I thought that we would miss a swimming pool but dipping our toes straight into the lagoon each morning was to die for. Also we... More

It was hard to decide which Maldivian island to choose when booking, they sort of looked the same but I'm sure they vary in culture and atmosphere, size and pace. We plumped for this one, and love it. It's small enough so that you end up knowing everyone - the staff and holiday makers - which is lovely when you... More
