Beautiful lobby, beautiful rooms with views and balcony (we bought a bottle of wine after diner an had on our balcony) The restaurant looked amazing and we wish we had eaten there bc we were tired and waited forever and had crappy food on the plaza. Really great hotel with great service. Caution, you have to ask the from desk... More

Cachi is definitely not the life and soul of Argentina but if you're doing a road trip and travelling along the RN40, your best bet in terms of stop-off accommodation is the El Cortijo Boutique Hotel. It has a cute little courtyard and a well laid out communal area. The room was nice, albeit a little small and basic. The... More

You have a choice of stopping in Molinos or Cachi. We did both. Probably should have just done Molinos. But if you do stop in a chi, the El Cortijo is an excellent choice. Somehow, they managed to blend old and new and make it work with nice rooms, beautiful courtyard, nice dining room and good food. HOWEVER, IF THERE... More

Very impressive place. Unassuming on the outside. On a quiet street. Inside looks like a mock up for Architectural Digest. Stunning interior. Lobby area has lots of comfy space including an open air courtyard. Also features many objects d'art. Some very interesting art pieces combined tastefully with antiques. Real surprise was a relatively new restaurant with stone walls in a... More

Absolutely wonderful little boutique hotel. I know, I own and operate a lovely remote lodge in Canada. El Cortijo is beautifully designed, lovely staff, good breakfast, comfy beds and if you have one of the better rooms the views from the bed are incredible. Cachi is interesting, good food, great wine and wonderful countryside surrounding the town - towering mountains,... More

Cachi is a real delight and El Cortija was a real find. The town is small and quaint almost in a time warp set in the desert of de Vallees Calchaquies. It was a long drive and we were thrilled when we arrived at El Cortija. It is a pretty boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant (which we didn't know... More

Do Not take room number 8 unless you are a munchkin! I was with a group and was assigned this room. It was the smallest on the floor. It had a double bed, with very little room between the bed and the wall. There was no desk, and only one place to put a suitcase. There was an armoire, but... More

What do you expect in a desert place like de Vallees Calchaqíes? No dust? Pampering services like wakeup calls or Special bedslippers (have been asked by other reviewers)? If that's what you're looking for, your in the wrong place, wrong part of Argentina. This is a very poor farming part of this huge country. If you're looking for something special,... More

We spent one night here in October '13; which happened to be the night before my birthday. There are only 2 rooms with private (and very large) balconies and direct views of the mountains. The majority of the rooms are either on the ground level around a lovely shared patio or on the upper floor on the veranda overlooking this... More

When I arrived in Cachi after 120 km of dirt road I nonetheless ran through the hassle checking out all the major local hotels - I was In for a treat. Knowing my options i picked the el Cortijo and i didn't regret it. Friendly staff (the owner speaks English) nice clean rooms and very tranquilo. They even switch off... More
