My two friends and I stayed for two days at Hotel Yakunah and we had a wonderful time! The staff at the hotel is really friendly and helpful. The helped us with organizing a day trip and with everything else we might have needed. We stayed in the 2 bedroom appartment which was great for three people sharing. We had... more

I have never stayed in such a perfect place! There was not one thing which I would change. We went for a night and stayed three! The rooms are beautiful and spaceous, The sheets fit the beds which I find difficult to get even in the 5 star hotels in Mexico. The beds are like floating on a cloud they... more

A true oasis! the ambience, culture and comfort were beyond belief. We stayed in the Yakunah for 5 nights, and it seemed like 1. Gerben is a superb cook, Elke is gracious and charming and the surroundings are clean, peaceful and well maintained. Just far enough off the beach and from town to be relaxing, yet close enough to be... more

This hotel is an oasis. First row in from the ocean. The grounds, restaurant and pool are beautiful, food is excellent, rooms are clean, service was excellent (especially Ray) and the owners and staff are friendly and very helpful in answering any questions you have regarding Progreso and surrounding areas . The owner is also a chef and the food... more

We had one of the rooms on the second floor and shared a terrace overlooking the Guldfof Mexico. The room was large and pleasant and Gerben and Elke are great hosts. The internet connection didn't work in our room so I did my research and email from the dining room, which was actually better as it gave me a chance... more

We stayed at the Yakunah for a second trip while property shopping in the area. We had a beautiful huge room at the front of the house with a very comfortable bed. We were easily able to walk to downtown and tour around there and also enjoyed the yard and swimming pool. The owners are very welcoming and make you... more

This is a beautiful place a short walk from town. The couple that run it have done a beautiful restoration job on the building, grounds, patios and pool area. There is not much I would suggest to improve in terms of facilities. HOWEVER... This is a bed and breakfast, not a hotel - if you don't know the difference read... more

We found this hotel because it was the only one with a website in Yucatan Living. I consider myself lucky to have found it and stayed there. We are building a house in Chelem and wanted to be close to the project. Gerben was an amazing source of information, saved us a lot of money and aggravation. Elke was an... more

We really lucked out finding this B&B. Having read reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to try the Hotel Yakunah when we visited Progreso last week on a house hunting expedition. Elke and Gerben were wonderful to us, so hospitable and very full of helpful information. They are very knowledgeable about the area and introduced us to several excellent resources;... more
