Nice and friendly welcome on arrival. Good advice on how to avoid the crowds while visiting the Pulpit. Nice clean room with good beds. I five course meny for dinner with good traditional food. We had Baccalao which were pefect for our tast. Plentiful breakfast, lunch pack for a reasonable extra.

All that you can read here is truth. The room was quite small, however I really think it's not so terrible like some people say. It's quite cozy and charming. Very nice choice to Preikestolen hikking.

During summer time, this hotel is perfectly located for a Preikestolen hike. Particularly if you got several hours to drive, why take the stress to drive to Preikestolen early just to arrive when it is already crowded? Sleep a night here before and probably also after and it will be a relaxing experience. The drive to the Preikestolen parking lot... More

US$169 for a room that was only slightly bigger than the double bed that it contained. The en-suite bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. The only amenities provided are soap and towels ; not even a simple plastic cup in the bathroom. No TV so bring an iPad. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. Nice... More

We stayed here during a road trip along the Ryfylke Tourist Road. It is a lovely place, recently refurbished in a nice style. Refreshing to be in an independent place compared to so many hotel chains. Hotel restaurant looked very nice, though we ultimately did not eat there. Nice views. Good parking availability.

We felt very welcome over our 2 night stay. The hotel worked out well for activities around fjords including a walk up Pulpit Rock. Rooms are small but reasonably well appointed and comfortable. Very little hanging space for clothes nor much room for suitcases. Area is quiet and bed comfortable so sleep came easy (and OK blinds to keep out... More

I think the website was a bit misleading as we were really looking forward to staying at what looked like a very comfortable hotel. There has obviously been a fairly recent refurbishment but the rooms are very small and pokey. The rooms at the back have terrible views of a building. There is also no where to relax in the... We were lucky to have 2 nights on the top floor with a lovely view across the water. The staff were extremely helpful and kind especially considering that the one person seems to look after the reception as well as the restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable. Our meals, both the buffet breakfast and the evening dinners were fabulous.... More

We were looking for someplace to stay that was close to Preikestolen (and Kjerag). I chose Verkshotellet for a couple reasons: the reviews here and that it was less expensive than the lodge and the trailhead. Since we had a rental car it was a no brainer. Since we're there in shoulder season, the hotel was not full, and we... More

We stayed one night at Verkshotellet in Jørpeland and paid NOK $1390 for our room (we stayed in room 214). Here is a list of what I liked about Verkshotellet: 1) The hotel location is ideal for visiting Pulpit Rock, the trailhead for this famous hike is only about 10 KM away. Pulpit Rock is quite popular, and in the... More
