We stayed one night at Verkshotellet in Jørpeland and paid NOK $1390 for our room (we stayed in room 214). Here is a list of what I liked about Verkshotellet: 1) The hotel location is ideal for visiting Pulpit Rock, the trailhead for this famous hike is only about 10 KM away. Pulpit Rock is quite popular, and in the... More

I stayed here on Business for only one night during the Offshore Northern Seas Exhibition. Despite the time of year that I visited (late August) the area of Jorpeland was deserted, like a ghost town really, lots of shops and even the only pub were shut. Despite the location being perfect for tourists wanting to visit the nearby Pulpit rock... More

Similar to other reviewers we chose this hotel because of its proximity to Pulpit Rock. Truly it was perfect and we were able to beat the crowds from Stavanger and hike with very few people. The room was just fine, had a wonderful breeze from the window. Our room had TV but there was also a TV lounge down the... More

We are on a motorbike trip in Norway and this hotel was our choice for doing the Prekestolen walk section of our trip. It's very clean (as are most places in Norway it seems) and the staff are very pleasant. The breakfast is plentiful and high quality. Excellent parking next to the hotel. As many other guests seem to mention,... More

Comfy bed but the single room is very small and pretty sparse, but ok for one & reasonably priced (for Norway anyway!). No main light in the room, only lamps. Good shower but no hairdryer. No TV. Breakfast pretty good and the very friendly staff can provide you with something if you are departing early. Only about a 10 minute... More

We came here specifically to hike Preikestolen and choose this hotel based on its proximity to the beginning of the hiking trail, which was very convenient. The owners and staff were welcoming and friendly and did their best to direct us to the places we wanted to go and the things we wanted to see. We ordered dinner in advance... More

This is a fantastic option if you have a hire car and want a base for the Preikestolen hike. Hotel is only a 10-15 min drive away from Preikestolen and even though there is nothing to do really I'm Jorpeland, the hotel has a fantastic restaurant which makes it a good overnight base. We booked here because the Preikestolen lodge/Fjellstue... More

We stayed here in July 2013 the night before and after our hike to Priekestolen. The food was good and the service excellent. As another guest has indicated the bathroom sink was very small but otherwise it's a great place place to stay to prepare for and/or rest after a hike to Preikestolen.

We stayed one night in this hotel as it is close to Preikestolen (10 kms). The family room was large enough for the four of us (actually 2 small adjacent rooms with one joint bathroom). Breakfast buffet nice as well and sufficient choice. We had dinner in the hotel (like a lot of guests seem to do). The quality was... More

The hotel is nice, the room, while not very big, was simply but nicely furnished and perfectly clean. Food at the restaurant was good and the staff very friendly. Our only complain was with the bathroom: the sink was way too small, towels were minimal and in general, it felt not at the same level with the rest. Otherwise, very... More
