Our family of 4 stayed here in August 2014 and used it as a base for hiking to Preikestolen, for which it is absolutely perfect (it is located right at the start of the trail). The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable (albeit a bit spartan), with great views if you are on the lake side. The lodge also sponsors... More

A wonderful place to stay at Pulpit Rock! I was nervous about the hotel and if it would be comfortable and clean. Our room was tiny, but had 2 beds and a bathroom and a loft with 2 mattresses. It was interesting to see how much space you had in such a tiny room! The bathroom had a shower, sink... More

We got a twin room on the lake side and private bathroom in the Mountain lodge for 1495 NOK as we just rocked up and the hostel was fully booked. It was more than we wanted to pay bt that's Norway for you, at least most of the attractions are free. Situated perfectly right at the start of the trail.... More

Stayed here as part of a hiking long weekend. Accommodation is basic but functional if you are spending a few days in the area. Food and alcohol on the expensive side but to be expected in Norway. Make sure you take your swimsuit and towel because the lake is lovely for a refreshing dip after a long days hike. Handy... More

Perfect to miss the crowds! We couldnt believe how many people arrived from 10am onwards. The lodge is in a great location & not expensive although the bunk beds arent that comfy! The bfast s great - the dinner ok... a bit buttery for my tastes (was salmon or chicken) so Id probably get food before dinner & just grab... More

This hotel is very basic. We had a few different cabins while staying here. I was in a 4 bed room which was very narrow and only had one sink. There was barely enough space to put all our rucksacks. We had a shared bathroom with the rest of the corridor which was clean, but again an extremely small shower.... More

The hotel itself is very basic (in the Scandinavian way) and clean. Rooms are small but then you don't go there to sit in the room. The restaurant had very good food and I strongly recommend having a dinner there (unlike breakfasts, which are average). The views from the hotel are amazing and it's hypnotizing just to sit outside and... More

Preikestolen fjellstue is located at the base of Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock). This place is well connected by bus which connects you to the Stavanger ferry. It is located in a beautiful spot by the lake and under the mountain. We stayed here for a night in a double room which had a bunker bed, but the room was a... More

We stayed here in Preikestolen hostel for 2 nights and it was a beautiful experience and definitely value for money when it comes to Norway. We stayed in the Vatne lodge next to the main one and all the facilities were of hotel standard and everything was super clean. The breakfast was also great and we also made our lunch... More
