OK for one night if you want to save yourself the drive back to Stavanger after walking. The location is incredibly beautiful just by the lake and once all the day walkers leave you get a real sense of quiet and peace. The lodge however is not incredibly well designed or managed, however we suspect many aspects are just in... More

I liked almost everything. A couple of things: the private rooms for 2 people are not very comfortable: there is not a single shelf on the wall by the bed to put stuff, such as your watch, etc. More importantly, in the shower on the 1st floor, there is no shelf to put your clothes while you shower. In the... More

Nice location, because you can start your hike right from there. Plenty of space for parking, however a lot of cars there as well. It is advisable to make a reservation, but you pay for it when you ale ready there. Very cheap, about $25 a night per person. Breakfast, very good for the price, is included. They have a... More

The hotel is full of hikers, has a sporty atmosphere. The rooms are sparsely furnished but we did not need more. Beds were very confortable, our bathroom was really large with a natural stone fllor with floor heating. Dinner was excellent, the food was prepared to perfection and nicely decorated. Break-fast was ok, some fruit, but not as good as... More

The hotel is in an ideal location for the beautiful hike to Pulpit Rock. And as it's the ONLY place to stay it has no competition. If it did then the apalling service would lose it some business. Our waitress seemed entirely uninterested in taking our orders and then brought us the wrong food. When I pointed this out she... More

I was so lucky to get a room in July 2015 in connection with the planned hiking tour to the Preikestolen. The room was clean, the standard was as expected from a Fjellstue. I enjoyed the breakfast and I bought a lunch package to bring with me to the Preikestolen. I think the breakfast service should start earlier than 7.30... More

Hi and thanks for the good review. We appreciate all feedback and your suggestion to start breakfast earlier, is an exellent idea that we will try out next summer. Wifi is available in all rooms in the main building and in all common areas. We've had some problems with the network, but it should be ok now. Hope to see... More

I stayed in hostel side in 4 bedded room of this property. It is clean and basic enough to answer all your needs. Hostel building is small and just a few steps away from main building, down the carpark. The carpark is free of charge for customers. At a glance the hostel building seems a bit abandoned as all the... More

Hi and thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Wifi is working in the mail hostel building, as well as in the main building. We're sorry if you weren't informed of that. It is true that we recommend everyone to pre-book a table for dinner, because it is full every night. We do... More

I was here yesterday, had to visit the place now that I only live 5 minutes from the startpoint. Have allways wanted to go, now that I had the oppurtunity I took the chance. One thing I feel like I didn´t realise before going was how tough the up and down route was, no one has ever informed me about... More

A 2 hour hike out to to "pulpit rock" is simply amazing. One gains 300 m from the parking lot and out to overlook Lysefjord. Even in the rain it is beautiful, even more when the sun shines😀 the view drops away from the cliff 600 meters to the fjord. Take a lunch and rest awhile to take it all... More

Very nice Hotel. We had a family room with a view to the lake and it was gorgeous. Room is small but you are not spending any time in it, just sleep and off you go hiking :) People working there were very kind and helpful.
