The lodge is simple but stylish with really helpful staff. The rooms were also simple but more than adequate with much needed lovely hot showers after climbing 'the rock' + I was lucky enough to have a great view of the lake. The food was outstanding, the home-made bread a delight and the chef Morten Sovik's attention to detail and... More

Have been staying here for 2 nights to walk up pulpits rock. The first night we had a superb meal of duck breast - they have a set menu. When we came to dinner on the second night we were told the menu was the same. But then the chef, Morten Sovik came out to the table and offered to... More

with a very 'Norwegian' feeling coming from the modern woodwork and fire places, this was a really nice place to stay.. But expensive. I had planned to stay in the Hostel, but it was closed for the season. Thankfully I was travelling with a friend which spread the cost, but still, 100 pounds for a very small, although comfortable, room... More

I liked this place very much. It is modern - but fits in perfectly with the impressive surrounding nature. We stayed in a familyroom with a view over the lake and there were plenty of space for 5 people. Very modern but small bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant is rather expensive, but a great choice because of the high quality.

We wanted a dormitory with toilet but it was fully booked. So we stayed in the room without toilet but there was a sink in the room. Room is simple. There are bathrooms on the same floor and basement. But the only bathroom on our floor, it got flooded. It was still flooded the second day.... it's pretty disgusting. Thank... More

I stayed in the dormitory with a group of friends and the facilities were ample. There was a fully functioning kitchen which was useful as there is only the hotel restaurant nearby which can be expensive for budget travellers. The view was amazing as our room overlooked the fjord. This is an ideal location for the hike to Pulpit Rock... More

I had my best bread here, even though I have been many times to France, Germany... Breakfast was good, with lots of things. However, we booked a reasonable lodging and there were the workers staying, cooking. It did not feel safe 100%.

Hi no9blue, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hostel. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast! I just wanted to mention that the workers staying in the same building as you, are Sherpas from Nepal, they are working on making the hike to Preikestolen better for everyone. They are some of... This hotel is in a beautiful location. The rooms are clean and practical. The food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious, even though the menu is a bit sparse, with literally no options. The hotel's communal spaces are not particularly cosy, so it is hard to relax on the premises, in addition you can get several hundred if not thousand day... More

Our family of 4 stayed here in August 2014 and used it as a base for hiking to Preikestolen, for which it is absolutely perfect (it is located right at the start of the trail). The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable (albeit a bit spartan), with great views if you are on the lake side. The lodge also sponsors... More

A wonderful place to stay at Pulpit Rock! I was nervous about the hotel and if it would be comfortable and clean. Our room was tiny, but had 2 beds and a bathroom and a loft with 2 mattresses. It was interesting to see how much space you had in such a tiny room! The bathroom had a shower, sink... More
