This hotel is cosy, warm and luxurious and makes for a perfect starting point for all the available hikes in the vicinity. We had a perfect breakfast and then climbed up to Preikestolen / pulpit rock starting at 09:00. I loved this hotel and their view so much I could go there even if I did not have hiking in... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to predominantly walk the Preikestolen Trail. We were in the Mountain Lodge (same building as the restaurant) on the ground floor in a double room. The rooms themselves were basic but clean and all you need. Nice self contained ensuite/bathroom and free wi-fi. The restaurant is highly recommended. The breakfast was included, but on... More

We went to the Preikestolen Fjellstue after a rough hike to the Kjeragbolten on a stormy day. Exhausted and completely wet, we were actually worried if we could go up the Pulpit rock the next day because of the unpredictable weather and our soaked shoes and clothes. At the lodge however, they gave us a very detailed forecast of the... More

The DNT has surpassed any expectations I might have had with their new hotel. The friendly staff helped us with all our queries, the restaurant in the new hotel served a couple of fresh and regionally sourced dinner dishes - well presented and tasty. We opted to start our walk so early that we were back with an hour to... More

The lodge at Pulpit Rock has so much to offer, it is hard to detail it all. First is the amazing view from the room! The lodge is situated so that the rooms have a fantastic view of a lake ringed by mountains. The rooms are large, and ours had sleeping accommodations for 5 people, with two beds in a... More

We stayed in the hostel for the night prior to climbing Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) and it was perfect. nothing fancy but it was a bed in the best location and allowed us to get up, eat breakfast and commence the hike before the hordes of tourists got there. This meant we got great views and photos with minimal people up... More

Fantastically located accommodation with stunning views on the lake as well as rocks, heading to the Pulpit Rock. In the morning we got delicious breakfast with a variety of local food. An absolute must-been for those who love peaceful atmosphere, closeness of nature and great people!

Because of our flight schedule, we had to return from Pulpit Rock before 11 am. That meant leaving for Pulpit Rock hike at 6 am from this mountain lodge. The hike starts in their parking lot. The lodge has great views all around. The lodge was sold out, but we could get two (bunk) beds in adjacent hostel. Everything from... More

The lodge is at the trailhead for the famous and very worthwhile Pulpit Rock trail. Staying here allows you to visit the rock late in the evening or early in the morning, when the crowds are less. The cheapest rooms are very basic. Two bunk beds and a sink in an area maybe 9 ft by 6 ft. I have... More

We stayed one night here before walking to Preikestolen and it's a great location and very convenient. The staff at check in were friendly and helpful, and the room (for 5 of us) was OK, small but spotlessly clean. However it's a noisy place, with people outside talking till late and the thin walls mean that you can hear your... More
