We stayed here recently for the night after finding a deal on NCrowd at a bargain price of £49 B&B including a 3 course dinner with a glass of prosecco :) The pub itself is very welcoming, warm and friendly manageress, manager needs to interact more with guests and smile a bit maybe. Thought maybe we would have had a... More

We booked The Woolpack for a one night DBB stay and enjoyed it so much we stayed for a second night! We arrived early around 12 and received a warm welcome from the owner/chef Frank and our room was made available early. The room was lovely (room 5) spacious and had a nice sized bathroom with bath. There was plenty... More

My partner and I spotted this venue by per chance and thought pre Christmas break what the hell. From the outside your usual standard country inn. But inside especially the snug area was fab. The food was great, prepared and served by the chef who by the way is the owner. Again fantastic. You won't go far wrong here

My wife Clare and myself stayed on January 2nd. The new owners and all the staff were really very friendly and efficient. The bedroom was large and very clean and warm. The 3 course evening meal and breakfast were top class. It was lovely sitting next to the Christmas tree by the wood burning stove in one of the pubs... More

The staff running the place were very friendly but as soon as we arrived he said they he had bad news that the chef was off that night. Looking on other sites it appears that this is the case most nights and has happened to most people who stay there. We had to drive several miles down the road to... More

We had an overnight stay here & the manager made us very welcome. The room was clean and comfy and the pub is nice and welcoming. Breakfast was also OK but nothing more. This is a nice place for an overnight stay but to be honest it does not live up to its price tag. For what you pay you... More

Found this hotel close to Barnsley, room was clean and comfortable, food was excellent. Price very reasonable. Great location for Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We had a lovely meal at the hotel on Saturday night but there was just one lad, very helpful and friendly working, checking people in, serving at the bar, taking dinner orders, serving food, clearing tables. My... More

Having stayed here before for one night I decided to stay for three nights as I work in this part of the world four days a week I like to try different places until I found the right one on a more permanent basis. I won't repeat the content of my previous review as nothing has changed in that respect.... More

This is a charming Pub/Guest House about 15 minutes from the motorway. The setting is gorgeous in the midst of green fields and hills. The pub is vey welcoming, warm and inviting. A good choice of ales and bar food mean there is plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and polite. The place is spotless and well maintained. Bedrooms... More

The hotel has a rural location, not a lot else around. We booked two double rooms for one night @ £70 per room, incl breakfast. On arrival we were kept waiting 10 minutes in the pub (which was almost empty) with our luggage before anyone even acknowledged our presence! No apology or warm welcome here! our rooms were located in... More

Thank you for your review. I was very disappointed to read how you found your experience here at the Woolpack, I therefore apologise.
