We had walked a long day on Camino - approximately 18 miles from Villadangos del Paramo through countryside and over and down hills - and had to walk UP to Astorga. This hotel is a lovely building situated on the Cathedral Plaza. We had the good fortune of getting a room on the Plaza itself so we could see the... More

Hotel Gaudi is a well rated hotel located directly in front of the Palacio Episcopal, Gaudi's masterpiece in Astorga. It's also just a 20 second walk from the Cathedral of Astorga, and both of these sites can be toured with a combined ticket. The hotel is moderately priced in relation to other accommodations, but the location and views are more... More

We were riding the Camino de Santiago and got lost in Leon. A full day on and off the road led us to Astorga and, on a whim, I asked about rooms at this property. Since there are two adults and two teenagers in our family we needed two rooms. This hotel had a corner setup with two bedrooms and... More

Other reviewers have referenced the hotel's location, which is wonderful. The staff is what makes this hotel shine, especially the young man who was at the front desk during our two day stay. If you love Roman ruins and want to stay in a great hotel while exploring them, this is the hotel for you.

This hotel is well located, across from the Gaudi Palace and the Cathedral. The room was ok but the walls transmitted sound more than other places. The restaurant staff were not the friendliest but the young lady at the front desk was excellent. Worth staying at for the location.

In the middle of a walk with friends who were walking the Camino, we arrived in Astorga. Having spent a few nights in Albergue's en route, we were astonished at the price of a night at the Gaudi. The service was superb, the room delightful and the stay pure bliss. The hotel is perfectly situated with a wonderful view, from... More

If you expect any allusion to Gaudi's magnificent building across the street, you will be in for a surprise. This is a modern hotel, and I did not see much to interest me in the decor. My room faced an inner courtyard, and thus I kept the window shut. During the morning, we could hear the noisy diners in the... More

The hotel has an excellent location with friendly, professional service. I had room 206 which had a straight on view of the Gaudi building and part of the Cathedral. Reception staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming and make you feel like an honored guest. Dinner in their dining room was excellent -- food was cooked to perfection and service was... More

We had just had a 22.5 kms. I can't tell you how helpful they have been, especially Ruben, I hope the know how wonderful he is. Our room is very comfortable, I would have liked a room with a view of Gaudies work, but we had to take pot luck. We had dinner in the dining room and the salad... More

This review only refers to the restaurant as we didn't try the hotel. It is incredibly well presented, traditional-looking and elegant; almost like an old-school English pub/restaurant with tufted leather wall panels, dim lanterns and classic furnishings. The service is also top quality - courteous, attentive and almost ceremonial. Bread rolls are dispensed with tongs. Waiters look immaculate with green... More
