For three (3) years, we lived in a village 30 minutes away. Owners Dougie & Janet are warm and genuine. We always called in advance and requested vegetarian cuisine. Since we're vegetarians, we never had their alternate menu option. We were never disappointed. Their menu was fixed and you paid a flat fee. This included 3 courses, matching wine options... More

Had a fantastic holiday at la Vielle Fromagerie in June/July 2012, gite was completely spotless and very comfortable, our boys (aged 6 and twins aged 3) loved the pool, all the toys and ofcourse the goats! Plenty to do in the surrounding areas all listed in the visitors book left in the gite, Dougie and Janet were also extremely helpful... More

We have never stayed but have eaten here on several occasions as we have a gite nearby. We are always delighted by the quality of the food and its excellent value. Of course this can only be done by the proprietors using the fixed price menu and limited opening. And it is essential to book. Don't miss it if you... More

We stayed in La Vieille Ecurie with our 3 children (aged 5 to 11). It is perfect for families, located in a lovely quiet rural area but still within a short drive of larger supermarkets. There is also a great shop within a 5 minute drive that supplies all the essentials. We arrived after a long and slightly stressful trip,... More

We stayed at La Vielle Fromagerie near the end of our stay in France. It was definitely a highlight of the trip with nicely decorated space, very clean rooms, lovely pool and garden, and delicious meals. Although this site offers gite accommodations, for those wanting B and B, Dougie and Janet are very accommodating. We were given a gite for... More

We stayed at the B & B part of La Vielle Fromagerie overnight during our road trip of France. We can honestly say that from the warm greeting that awaited us from Dougie and Janet on arrival to the lovely comfortable bedroom and wonderful meal cooked by Janet, nothing could have been better. We were recommended to here by our... More

If you are looking for something extra then this is the place for you. The gite was spotlessly clean, light, airy and modern, very well equiped and furnished to an extremely high standard. The pool and garden area was very clean and well maintained and had a good selection of chairs and sunloungers. The hosts, Janet and Dougie, were very... More

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in rural france then you won't go far wrong at La Vieille Fromagerie. We were a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children staying in the larger gite La Vieille Ecurie. The gite owners Dougie and Janet were very helpful and friendly but kept a discreet distance so we did not... More

For: A very nice gite, imaginatively transformed from the original buildings. Excellent swimming pool, site in attractive location. Well equipped gite, except for oven - see below. On three evenings owners operate a restaurant, available to gite guests. Exemplary food and value for money. The owners also organised a barbeque for gite guests - convivial and good value. In response to the points raised by the reviewer: 1. Flies are a fact of life in rural France, we do use outdoor traps etc to reduce the fly population. This has not been an issue with other guests. 2. The cooker runs on bottled gas as there is no mains gas in our area. The grill has not been... More
