This is a very comfortable hotel in the centre of the newer part of town, near restaurants, shops, etc. The rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable, there are communal seating areas and a small bar. Buffet breakfast with a good range of cereals, breads, meat, cheese, eggs, etc served in the dining room - special home made cake is... More

Very friendly and helpful staff here. Room very basic but ok for one night/short visit. Decent enough breakfast. Hotel is in lower town, the upper town (alto) is accessible via an elevator and is worth a visit.

We stayed in Room #207 and although this is a bit of a dated modern style hotel, opening the shutters in the morning and seeing the medieval old town reminds you very quickly you are in Tuscany. The room itself was fairly large, bathroom adequate but shower is small. The double bed was large, slightly on the firm side, but... More

We stayed here for 12 days and had a great holiday. Colle di Val d'Elsa isn't a tourist hotspot. It's a pleasant little Tuscan town, bustling with family life, with a lovely old town just a lift ride away. The location is excellent for seeing the touristy places -Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra, Arezzo and the Tuscan coast are all... More

We booked this hotel because of location and price. 15 minutes from Siena. 15 minutes from San Gimignano. The town is very friendly and authentic and thankfully lacks a strong tourist presence. Quaint shuttered windows on one side of the building open to a city square with real Italian activity going on. The other side faces the beautiful old town... More

Good value hotel. Pros - bed was surprisingly comfy, despite it being called a single room, it had a double bed, 3 news channels in english, nice bathroom, nice breakfast and welcoming staff. Cons - outdated furniture in the room, the hotel itself is a bit outdated, can only get wifi in the foyer. All in all good value and... More

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an old converted paper mill in the "new town" and just a short walk from the lift which takes you up to the old town when you want to... More

I moved from L A to Long Island in 1983 and my new wife and I were headed for Florence, but we ran low on gas in this town about noon, so we ate at La Vecchia Cartiera hotel (very good meal), and the proprietor (Sergio) was quite proud of the then-new "old paper mill".he had just refurbished. We acceded... More

We booked this hotel not knowing anything but the general location. The Location is perect for exploring the Tuscany region. Upon arriving we were greated at the front desk by a man with a firm handshake and a great smile. From the moment you step into Sergios hotel it was like being at home. Anything you need Sergio will get.... More
