The prices here are a little higher than average for the food... having said that you get a LOT for your money. You'd not need to order a starter, which is good because they don't do them! We didn't have room for desserts, which is disappointing because they looked HUGE! The ale choices were good and we had a lovely... More

Stayed here with my parents at the recommendation of my very new father-in-law, whose aunt often stayed here to go walking. It's perfectly comfortable and clean, with lovely friendly proprietor and wifi, and nicely placed between Buttermere and Crummock Water. Buttermere is a 10-minute walk away and absolutely beautiful. If you don't want to eat there, there are at least... More

Just stayed for two nights with a group of friends and would wholeheartedly recommend. 5 real ales, very good value evening meals, superb breakfast and friendly staff. They also take your wet outdoor clothes away to a drying room if required. A pleasant residents lounge, but no mobile signal!

We stopped here as we wished to climb up Haystacks. Could not be in a better location and made a wonderful view from our bedroom window, of both Haystacks and of peaks. Bedroom very clean as was the rest of the inn and a very goog bed. Did not have an evening meal, but the breakfast was wonderful. Will return... More

Stayed 3 nights over May Day bank holiday weekend, one couple and a single, joining 41 friends who were in the YHA and 4 who were in the Bridge for an annual get-together. We chose the Fish because it offered a better deal for our single companion. Wonderful views from our room (10) along the lake and towards Haystacks. Having... More

We stayed for the 3rd time at the Fish Inn and were not disappointed. The service was as friendly as ever and the food at the bar just what you needed after a good long walk. The breakfast was delicious and the room great and comfortable. Lovely relaxing stay and hope to return next year. Lymm, Cheshire

We had one nights B&B as part of a walking journey through the Lakes. The Fish Hotel was a perfect stop. Extremely friendly and helpful staff; comfortable room; outstanding food; real ales. We would love to return because it is perfectly located too. All in all a great stay.

Myself and my husband called in at the Fish Inn for a drink and also ordered a snack for lunch. There were lots of choices such as jacket potatoes, soup of the day, sandwiches etc.. My husbands Grandparents chose lamb sandwiches with mint sauce which isn't something you see offered very often. We shared the prawn with marie rose sauce... More

Drove over to for lunch, but found the place closed. My issue is the way in which "Basil" (the rude manager) opened up a upstairs window and started shouting at me "WE ARE CLOSED! - YOU SEE THE SIGNS - YOU CANNOT PARK HERE - GET OUT OF MY CAR PARK!". It was a rainy November afternoon so the car... More
