We stayed two nights during February and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bream Bay Lodge and exploring the surrounding area. There are world class beaches in the vicinity and the Waipu Museum is well worth a visit - it is a credit to all involved. Grant and Annet made us most welcome and the services, funishings etc. were absolute luxury.... More

When you read on the website spectacular private surf beach you do not expect a public beach access 2 km away ! The suggested crossing the lagoon by kajak plus a rough sanctuary is impossible. The bed was very good, dishes not clean, towel from previous guests still in bathroom.

We booked at the last minute not knowing what to expect. From the moment of our arrival everything was just perfect. A friendly, relaxed welcome and a quick orientation and then we were left to ourselves for the next 2 days. We stayed in the beautiful French cottage which opens out to a large deck and an expansive lawn. The... More

A quiet, secluded place, with modern, clean conveniences. We wanted one of the cottages, but were content with the suite of rooms upstairs. The guys enjoyed kayaking across the river to the dunes and the Pacific and we girls enjoyed the animals Annette and Grant have rescued -- alpaca, pigs, sheep, horses, a donkey, and cows. Waipu area offers lots... More

We had not planned to stay here, but stopped by to say "Hello". The beach was so beautiful that we decided to stay. Get the top floor room right on the front. It is huge (2 rooms) and has a wonderful view of the area. There is very little food near by, so get directions to the nearby village, Waipu,... More

A secluded gem, with various accommodation options. Hosts Grant & Annette are the epitomy of hospitality and would surely help you choose the best room option for you. We stayed in the French Cottage which was delightful, with kitchen, dining area and lounge, and ensuite with Spa bath. All tastefully decorated with full French doors out onto the private deck,... I would definitely come back. This accomodation was fantastic. The rooms were done so tastefully with lovely colours and decor, really spacious with a very comfortable bed. This was real quality and an absolute little gem.. Setting just idyllic. It was awesome for the price and I "totally" recommend it. The host was also lovely and a proper gentleman. Bruce and... More

Advertised as luxury and it lived up to its word Although on the more expensive side of motel prices (although have paid more) this was well worth it. Great location - rural and no traffic noise but close enough to Waipu and Waipu Cove not to be a problem - lovely grounds meticulously maintained. We stayed in the garden cottage... More

Clean, well-run, and bright. Attractive small property with kayaks and hot tub. They have a rescue farm for animals. Make sure you kayak across the lagoon to the beach - beautiful and seems exclusive.

Thank you Grant and Annette for making our visit so memorable. The rooms, the view, the birds and the company could not be faulted. We so enjoyed being together in the Lodge - and was definitely a Home away from Home feel. You are both so lucky to have found such a beautiful piece of paradise, which we count ourselves... More
