Camp Waipu Cove keeps getting better. Facilities, layout, sites, staff, service, and atmosphere are all outstanding. Clean, friendly, relaxed, and peaceful - and all within 100 m from the beach. Pretty close to perfect.

We stayed for 5 nights in the bunk house. Was basic but exactly what we knew it would be. 20m to the beach and amenity block but very quiet at the same time. Great blackout curtains so no waking up at first light which was nice. Was great in that we were the only group in the bunkhouse for most... More

Friends of ours have been coming to Camp Waipu Cove for many years and this year we paid them a visit. The site was full but amazingly peaceful and quiet. The facilities were clean and uncrowded, the setting perfect, all adding up to a very relaxing and enjoyable first stay. I also found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, considering... More

My family and extended family have been comin here for the past 8 years over christmas prior to this we did 11 years at Paunui, Waipu is far better/staff/facilities/safe/well patrolled camp ground and cost wise there is not that much of a difference. My only problem is rebooking for the following year as we stay 14 days and depending on... More

We have been coming to this camp ground for 5 years now and would highly recommend to anyone thinking about it. There is a patrolled surf club so its safe swimming for one and all and the beach is to die for. The facilities are always clean and there are lots of them. I didnt have to wait for a... More

This was our second stay here in our caravan & once again had a great time, we stayed for 8 nights this time over Christmas Day, I was surprised how quiet the park was but filled up as we left on the 28th December. I love the remoteness of the camp, it means nothing is dragging you away from the... More

My trio of hikers has been walking the Te Araroa Trail and we've stayed in several backpackers and holiday parks along the way. So far, this has been our least favourite of the bunch. I realise that we arrived in peak season, but the campsites were incredibly expensive. We paid $23 per person for a "powered" site, which we were... More

Dear Ryan We were surprised to read your review that you found us overpriced. In comparison to other camp grounds in the area that offer our extensive range of facilities and proximity to the beach, we are priced in line with them over PEAK. We are an extremely popular campground and are always fully booked over the busy PEAK period,... More

Visitors from Soweto would have recognised the lack of any privacy and how people are squeezed into every nook and cranny here. Probably good for families as right by the beach but not good for anyone looking for anything else. Very clean and tidy, but just sooo impersonal. It's not cheap either and they have the cheek to charge for... More

Waipu Cove is perfectly placed so close to the beach and with great amenities. We were there over the madly busy time between Xmas and New year and the shower blocks were clean, the camp grounds were immaculate and the staff were helpful. This is our 3rd stay and we'll be back later this year. Keep it up guys. Its... More

we were very lucky to get a bunkroom for a night at the busiest time of the year as the campground was completely full. the room was fine, plenty of space and right next to both the beach and the kitchen and washing facilities (which are excellent. very comprehensive and very clean). no noise issues at all and everyone was...
