My wife and I stayed here for a wedding reception in early December. We were given room 1, which has a large four poster bed, and spacious shower. We requested a travel cot for our young son, which was set up and ready on our arrival. The food served was really good, homely comfort food, and was welcome after a... More

Stayed here for our nephews reception and they did an outstanding job! We asked them to set up a room for the grooms mom, his sister, her two kids and the couples toddler,, they did and it was great!! The room had two twin beds, a couch bed and a rollaway but it wasn't at all crowded 🤗 our room... More

Spent 2 nights, first night we had family visit us for dinner. Due to a large gathering the main room we were the only ones in another side room. Staff were great, but food was not, undercooked. Problems with room heating were not addressed, and we were charged £11 for one coffee! There was no management available to address matters.... More

We were looking for a last minute break for our wedding anniversary in the area and stumbled across Oakwood Hall. We were not disappointed with this great little find. We found comfortable, sympathetically decorated rooms with friendly, cheerful staff. There was a little patch of damp in the room, but this is to be expected of such an old building.... More

I stayed here with two work colleagues while working in the area. Stunning, warm, and welcoming hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and we were lucky enough to be given the four posters and the honeymoon suite. The hotel is full of character and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was fabulous, I am gluten intolerant... More

My standards are very high and I can honestly say that the hotel is very good value for money and some reviews on Tripadvisor I think are expecting a little too much for the price paid! All the staff were very warm and welcoming and make you feel at home. Everything that was needed was at first hand and very... More

Booked three rooms for two nights. Two twin rooms were average, both were in need of upgrading. Chipped skirting boards, torn wallpaper! Carpets on bathroom floors in hotels are unhygienic! Stains and iron marks on some of the carpets. Bed linens needs replacing. Pillows and mattresses average at best! The double room was at the end of a dark corridor... More

We stayed at Oakwood Hall as our cousins were having their wedding reception there. It is a pleasant old building with plenty of parking and a good garden area, just right for a wedding. Lots of nice touches with toiletries provided in the rooms show they are trying to make a quality image. We enjoyed our stay but then it... More

The bedrooms are seriously overpriced and in real need of refreshing. The bar at times was challenging to get served at (No staff around). Despite knowing there were problems with one of the real ales on one day they failed to resolve it for the wedding day. Redeeming features, the staff were friendly, and the food was to a good...
