Good things first - the hotel is well located, and its a short walk to the Commonwealth cemetery as well as the main market and taxi stands. The property is clean, and the views are pretty good. Staff are friendly. Food is a bit limited but decently done. But its overpriced. Rooms are basic, to say the least, and though... More

I stayed here in December 2013. This is an odd place. It self-proclaims it's a "boutique" hotel - but it's not even close. It lacks style, isn't especially comfortable and was cold (I was there in early December), the tv didn't work (not that I necessarily wanted to watch it - it's the principle of the thing) and hot water... I had booked a double room and ended up being given a cupboard-size single room with a hard single bed, because the management had assigned my room to other guests. Nothing doing, it took me 15 minutes to get the manager to come to reception, but he wouldn't change my room, arguing that the hotel was fully booked because of... More

We stayed here when nothing else was available in Kohima during the Hornbill Festival. I had a single room that was small but functional. Others had big rooms with balconies and great views over the city and hills. It is well located close to the war cemetery but with typically tight access for vehicles. The hotel was clean and the... When I read the reviews and saw the pictures of the Hotel Building, I was not impressed at all to be honest but this hotel exceeded my expectations. It is very homely and my room had spacious bathroom and room. The sunlight and the view from the balcony is amazing and the free breakfast is very big and filling. Maintenance... More

The hotel gives so many complimentary items like tea coffee breakfast and even discount on your room rent. they don't charge for extra tea bags cofee satchets sugar milk. This is not seen in many hotels. The conference room is given free of cost provided the participants take food from the hotel. Even the buffet lunches are very cheap Less... More

An unattractive pink concrete building causes modest explanations, but it is clean, staff are helpful but inexperienced, and there may be language problems - there are many tongues in Nagaland. Beds are very firm but this the norm for this region. Location is excellent but there is no parking, an overall problem for all of Kohima. Hotel has no capacity... More

We had a fabulous stay in Kohima enjoying the Hornbill Festival, drives in to the country, the well kept War Cemetery (fascinating) and the general polite and welcoming hospitality of the Naga people. However, Kohima is well off the beaten track so manage your expectations. The Orchid Hotel is more like a gap year hostel than a hotel. The saving... More

The staff are all smiles and are nice. but the management is pathetic! I stayed in a suite from 23rd to 28th of September. The suite did not even have a fan on top of the bed, they do not accept credit cards, though it was a suite, i was charged for using a mattress that too on the floor... More
