We stayed here towards the end of April 2012 for 3 nights. The hotel is well placed being only 3 blocks from the sea, and in towards the centre of Copacabana so you can wander in both directions. The only other real positive is that the breakfast is ok. Unfortunately the hotel does look tired and from the seventies. The... More

The Apa hotel is not cheap but the location makes up for this. It's about 3 blocks from the sea front and close to the metro which was a bonus. We requested a double bed and was given 2 singles which was all that they had. We found the staff fairly helpful but not very smiley- language barrier was a... More

I stayed at Apa for two nights. It is in a perfect location not only to Copacabana beach but to plenty of shops and restaurants ideal for anything you might need. The area felt safe and easily to find your way around. The rooms are clean and equipped with all the necessities (though I do find the tiled walls slightly... More

Simple!! Room smell was disgusting. I couldn't even breath. Staff is absolutely unkind. I can't believe tripadvisor's review is good. I bet if you stay in this hotel your vacation be destroyed. More

A very functional room in a good location. This hotel had everything we needed and was a short walk to Copacabana beach and the Metro. The room was clean, the water pressure was good, the AC worked well, it had a fridge and a safe, and was very spacious. The staff was helpful (though some were friendlier than others) and... More

I stayed here during carnival 2012. Contrary to other reviews I did not find the hotel ugly or particularly run down. It is basic, clean and the service is good. Convenient location and nice surroundings. Morning staff is friendly and helpful, evening staff less so. Breakfast was adequate. Considering I was there for carnival I got an extremely good rate... Having read many reviews, I finally picked this hotel as the best prices for the money. It is old, ugly, and worn down, but clean. There is wireless that works most of the time and free breakfast. It is two blocks from the beautiful Copacabana beach, and a couple blocks from the metro. More

Rather small and worn out hotel in Rio within walking distance to Copacabana. The hotel lobby is nice – small but clean and you can read newspapers over cup of coffee. The rooms on the other hand are not so comfortable even though they are relatively large. The bathroom is pretty basic, no comfort and not too clean. The same... More

We stayed at this hotel in our trip to Rio to attend to Paul McCartney concert last May 2011. The hotel is located in Copacabana, the rooms are quite small and during the night it was possible to fell the cold inside the room (yes, cold in Rio, it was May). The breakfast was this typical brazilian with fruits, cooked... More
