From river facing rooms the view is everything previous reviewers have described, with both ends of the slow river bend dominated by church towers illuminated at night. The room itself was spotless and surprisingly spacious with a good sized balcony just metres from the river side. The breakfast buffet was generous and the service excellent. The owner had been called... More

I have been visiting the Mosel valley for the past 55 years and to Zell for the past 12. I used to stay in town, but when I found this hotel I now always stay here each visit(2x a year). The location is just perfect right on the river with nothing except a footpath in front and the views are... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights at cafe im Hamm on a mini tour of Belgium and Germany. We booked this hotel on recommendations from Trip Advisor. I can only agree with everything written. It is well worth paying a little extra for a room overlooking the Mosel with a terrace or balcony. But as with a previous guest... More

Returned last month from a two-week trip abroad, three days of which we spent in the charming town of Zell, along the Mosel River just about halfway between Koblenz and Trier. The Cafe Im Hamm is a beautiful newer hotel situated along a lightly traveled street that connects the old town to the district of Merl. Across the street from... More

Having had 2 nights at this Gasthaus three years ago, we booked again this August and found it every bit as good. At the end of August it was quite quiet, which meant that when we requested a double room with balcony we actually got a whole (family) suite of rooms including large lounge and additional toilet! But the main... More

We were led to this site by the earlier review on Trip Advisor, and it was a fine place to stay. The setting on the Mosel is terrific, indeed, but with one caveat: It was late September but quite warm while we were there, with a very hot sun. In the late afternoon it really blasted the balcony, so we... More

My wife and I decided to take an off season weekend break to Germany. We flew late Friday evening from Glasgow Prestwick in early November 2005. Our flights with Ryanair cost £21 return including taxes - bargain! We arrived at Frankfurt Hahn airport close to midnight but I had already emailed the Vaug bus company who were waiting at the...
