We stayed in the annex - ground floor with balcony over looking the bubbling stream. Great breakfasts, and after 3 nights - one free dinner in their cafe in town - where indeed 3 of us struggled to finish a pizza! Room for 3 included a very good sofa bed. Bus stop from Voss is right outside. more
We stayed at the Ulvik Fjord Hotel for only one night, but thoroughly enjoyed it. The room had a lovely view to the fjord (about 150 metres away), and was clean and comfortable. Stay - 3 days (Aug 16-19th) I confess to being slightly baffled by one or two of the negative comments I've seen. This place is a no-frills option and is ideal for the traveller with a tighter budget. If you want marble floors and uniformed bellboys then I suggest you look elsewhere. We stayed at this "hotel" in the main building for 3 nights. The accomodation was very hostel like. Don't expect much of "en-suite" facilities in your room. Again with the hostel, what is it with you people? we are not a hostel. The showers in some rooms are small, I didn't build them. The walls are not the thickest and there is insulation in them, but in the summer with the windows open?? Locals not paying guests,do you think we give food and beer away? Anywhere else...

Yes, I do smoke, it is not against the law to smoke outside in Norway or anywhere else for that matter, you mention that one of those smoking got up casually and SHE checked you in. Simple hotel on the edge of the village across the street from a waterfront campground. Our room in the annex had a concrete terrace on a rushing brook with a partial view of the fjord.
