It was amazing how the nature was covered all around by snow. The hotel itself is a kind of resort because it consists of several buildings. We were expected a modern hotel according to the web site but we have received a room in a side building which was a bit dated but no problem. The breakfast room was a... More

We reserved a superior room in the Gielas building, entirely from a review we read on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed! This building of the hotel complex is right next to the main building. It has a beautiful lobby and the restaurant was as good as we have found almost anywhere. The room was lovely. Clean and comfortable with amazing... More

We stayed in the Gielas wing for 3 nights in December 2014 with our kids aged 6 and 4, booked with Thomson. We spent many months looking at the various options available to go and visit santa in Lapland and we were not disappointed with this trip. From the minute you get on the plane everyone was friendly and made... More

At the beginning of the winter season the hotel was still very quiet, not a lot of guests. The hotel restaurant is of excellent quality, at very reasonable prices. Breakfast buffet is standard, could be better for this price. I had a room in a more remote part of the hotel; very quiet as the bar closed rather early. But... More

I stayed in the Santa hotel at the beginning of Jan 2015 on a works trip. The six person apartment was very spacious, clean, everything working. It was equipt with a full kitchen log fire and most importantly a sauna. Was a good distance from the town and you can ski all the way to the slopes. All together the... More

Just returned from a week’s stay at the Gielas and have to agree with the high praise of the other reviews. Bedrooms and all public rooms are spotlessly clean, bedrooms are well equipped, the sauna was heaven after a day’s skiing. The drying cabinet was particularly useful. The bar when we stayed was only open Tuesday to Saturday, so we... More

The holiday of a lifetime, Snow! Santa, Huskies, reindeer.... Gielas section of the hotel a must. Rooms were clean, new, and our bathroom wonderful and had a sauna. Took my 8 year old and 9 year old on a winter wonderland holiday, we hail from sunny South Africa, and wanted guaranteed snow, and snow we got. I have surely given... More

This isnt just a review of the Tunturi Hotel but also of Santas Lapland. If you have young children and your weighing up whether to go to Lapland, stop thinking and do it, you wont regret it. The whole trip was amazing from the Easy Jet crew singing and dancing in the aisles to the Elves dancing on the road... More

We had a super time in Lapland, where the fun started on the plane by the Easy Jet staff. My husband couldn't believe it was Easy Jet and thought all staff should be this up beat and engaging on all their flights. The coach transfer from the airport to the resort was easy and of course, included Christmas songs, the... More

We stayed in the Gielas Wing on the 3 day option in early December through Santa's Lapland. Whilst the experience of being in Lapland was fantastic as we all love snow and the activities were really enjoyable, the holiday was not ideal. Firstly the flight to Lapland. The plane circled over Ivalo airport for an hour while they cleared the... More
