We stayed here in 2008. The ensuite room was spacious and clean. They have a nice pool with sunbeds. The food was great. They even engaged some tribal people who performed some music during dinner. Maybe this is what a tourist wants to see as there are a lot of "bus-tourists" coming along. The staff were friendly. Our son enjoyed meeting... More

We did not arrive until 10 pm and even though the reception was shut down there was someone there to greet us and show us where our room was. The room was neat and there was wi fi available in the lounge and dining room area. The lodge provided paper bag lunches which we purchased to take along for our... More

We had arrived at Hammerstein having booked as self catering guests. We soon realised that we were a good 100 km from the nearest town, and 200 km to the nearest decent store. We thus needed to rely on their hospitality and meal options. Thinking we were in for a fleecing nothing could be further from the truth. Firstly we... More

As always we are thankful for the feedback as this helps us to always improve. I would just like to explain that Honey ( that's our oryx name ) is not kept in a pen. Some of our guests may not see that she has a long corridor and then its opens to a area that's about a 100 hectares... More

Although rooms are basic it was a great stay. A pool in the grounds plus roaming tame springbok. After dinner entertainment in the form of a small show by the staff. The biggest attraction was being able to see a leopard together with spending time with two cheetahs. A very memorable experience. You are in the safe hands of a... More

We stayed at Hammerstein Lodge whilst doing an accomodated safari. Our room was motel style, very neat and clean with very much needed electric blankets. The restuarant, bar and lounge area was very modern and had facilities for tea and coffee making. The staff were all very attentive. They have3 very large enclosures with caracals and cheetas that have been... More

A good base from which to explore the desert of Namib-Naukluft NP. There's a lovely garden and pool and a number of hand-reared animals which guests can interact with, including a cheetah. The food was tasty and after each meal the kitchen staff like to sing for their guests. A less expensive option than the amazing-looking Le Mirage Lodge a... More
