I recently stayed here for 3 nights. It's well located outside the buzzling centre of Cox's Bazar which makes it a very peacefull place to stay, but also a little annoying because you have to take a CNG for 30 minutes (300 taka one way) to go to the centre. As a solo woman travelling, this kind of Iocks you... More

we just got back from 3 nights at mermaid eco and really enjoyed ourselves. It is in a lovely location - quiet and smack-dab in the middle of nature. Birds, trees, hammocks, fishing boats - beautiful The staff is absolutely lovely and the food is really good too - we are strict vegetarians and had no problem. They make the... More

Mermaid Eco-resort gets points for trying. The only thing of its kind in Cox's Bazar, it is moving the area towards a more SE Asia-type travel experience. I appreciate the low-impact design and remove from the general hectic scene of Cox's Bazar itself. There still aren't too many places like this in Bangladesh. However, at US$60+ per night for the... Very nice concept, good idea I can see all that but it quite not there yet. On the way to Cox's Bazar we stopped at 2 Mermaid Resorts...The one that is already open and working. The 2nd is still work in progress and the restaurant open only. First of all they are in the middle of wilderness not much resources... More

Mermaid is the finest option for a couple trip to Cox's Bazar. Their service and location is awesome. U can have fresh food with a healthy environment and a Caribbean thrill. They have a very calm & hassle-free beach which is perfect place for a romantic holiday. The place is a bit expensive but it is worthy...

We spent a week in The Mermaid Eco-resort's "Ms Mermaid Ashram" which is one out of three cottages on a little island and because of the low season we pretty much had it all to our selves. It is a ten minute boat ride from the resort itself and right on the beach. To go for a swim in the... More

To keep a long review short, the pros were the beautiful naturally ventilated cottages and rooms which were far from the madding crowd, and the exceptional service provided by the staff. Also, delicious food and a private beach were excellent, despite the presence of beggars on the private beach. (Don't think that the resort could have done anything about that).... More

Ecolodge has got to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. The lodge is so calm and its wonderful to eat out and be so close to what can ony be described as a jungle , with all the fantastic noises around you. The staff are so friendly and always smiling, happy to help. Eco lodge comes... More

Positives: * We stayed in "Ashram", 3 villas isolated from the main resort, which takes a 10 minutes journey by boat (Mermaid owned & free) to reach the place. Its absolutely isolated and we hardly have seen 10 people in our 3 days stay over there, 1 being our very own butler! He gave us his phone number & was... More
