We arrived around 4.00pm ish and although the pub was locked when we arrived, and after eventually gaining the owners attention, we were shown to our room. A pleasant, good sized room. Clean, warm and comfortable. Our hosts were very friendly once we got introduce, complete with their pets, especially a very friendly Alsatian and her fellow family member, and... More

So we decided to give the place a try last Thursday night. How disappointing it turned out to be. The only fish dish was fish and chips! The specials were read... More

Me and my boyfriend visited for roast dinner one Sunday. We ordered drinks which arrived in dirty glasses and it took half an hour to be acknowledged and nearly an hour for our food to arrive! When our food arrived it was mediocre. Not once did any member of staff do any check-back or ask if we were ok or... More

Really had a great night in the beautiful Inn. Following in Adams footsteps was going to be difficult. Yet Reg & Michelle have proved themselves worthy Landlord & Landlady. Reg is a great host, interacting with all the customers and keeping everyone amused. Michelle is a perfectionist and keeps the bar and restaurant in order. A lovely couple who have... More

my family and i booked sunday lunch at the haymaker ,some of us ate off the main menu, some had roast, firstly they brought out beef and said it was the lamb ,then realised their mistake and offered to swap ,the roast beef was not the best cut and quite chewy but the flavour was there,my daughter said her steak was superb,but... Haymaker I, Owner at The Haymaker Inn, responded to this review

This party was originally booked in for 10 people, who were asked to pre-order from the menu, this they failed to do and on the day increased the number to 18. This meant a certain disruption to our regular customers. The prime rib roast is traditionally served pink, but if requested an end cut could have been provided .There were... More

Didn't stay. Just ate at the restaurant. Very little choice, especially puddings. Food reasonable price and ok for an evening out but nothing special. Pity about the flowers. All dead. No accessible entrance, a nightmare for anyone with mobility problems.

Been twice now, once for an evening meal on Steak night, my son and I had the New Yorker Steak, cooked to exactly how we both wanted, husband had the chicken with cheese, we tasted and instantly wished we could have had that as well...so juicy and tasty, then this weekend my husband and I returned for a Saturday lunch... Amazing changes have taken place at this pub since the new landlords took over. It is definitely "under new attitude". We had a very warm welcome. A chef is now on board and there are several theme nights including Taco Tuesdays which are extremely good value for money. They don't use minced beef, they use chunks of prime steak, definitely...
