A lovely friendly hotel in the town of Ystad where the iconic Swedish TV crime series 'Wallander' was situated. The comfort and service in the hotel was of a high standard. We also took the 'fire engine' tour of all the locations seen in the TV series. A must for fans of the wonderful and charismatic actor Krister Hendriksen who... More

This hotel represents poor value for money. It scores low marks for customer care particularly as guests are asked to pay the bill before they have even signed in. The receptionist had to be summoned by telephone and when he arrived his first priority was to make sure that your account was settled and his demeanour was extremely unwelcoming. Also... More

Really nice change from modern boutique hotels - a charming old (very old) hotel, right in the centre of Ystad. Our room overlooked the pretty garden between the two buildings that make up the hotel. Very comfortable and cosy.... Great to have windows you can open! Kind staff, very helpful. Breakfast was good too.

We went to this hotel 10 years ago, and returned to celebrate an anniversary. It is a very homely and comfortable hotel and centrally located. The room was very clean with good size rooms. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great too. We can definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic break!

Stayed overnight on the way back home after having toured Europe for 3 weeks. Husband insisted on Wallanders Ystad... Much enjoyed the lovely town and the lovely, cosy Anno 1793 hotel/guesthouse agreed with the overall "stimmung" of the place. Loved our small but cosy room by the courtyard, sat for a nightcap in the courtyard at the tiny corner table... More

The atmosphere in the hotel was very charming and the location is perfect in the city centre very close to the central square. A nice garden is located inside the hotel buildings, but we did not spend time there. At least our room was quite spacious, but you could sense that the building is old based on the shape of... This hotel is worth a visit. Plenty of good breakfast, wide variety; the bacon wasn't up to much but then it never is except in the UK. The hotel staff were very friendly, and the room - Wallander Suite, I wonder how many of those there are in Ystad - was large enough and comfortable. Lovely courtyard, though we only... More

We just agree on most other good reviews of this hotel. The enclosed garden gives you just a good feeling. We had a room on the ground floor to Longatan and was lucky enough that the Pub next door was out of business. We would like to come back next time in Ystad.

History is alive around you when you stay at Sekelgarden. The fact that all the rooms are different both in shape and style, and that the buildings have been part of Ystad for several hundred years, add to the charm and the historic atmosphere of the hotel. We stayed in a spacious room at the top floor with comfortable beds... More
