My husband and I stayed at Manicou for our honeymoon. It was absolutely AMAZING. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view from the room was breathtaking. We can't wait to come back for a visit, and possibly in the future, move to Dominica.

Hosts Kate and Patrick have built a truly unique paradise into the beautiful little corner of the world that is Manicou River. I selfishly thought of not writing this review, just so I could keep the secret to myself, but it really is too good not to share. Let me start by saying that my travel into Dominica was anything... My wife and I joined the very friendly staff at Manicou's beautiful new restaurant for Christmas dinner. Kate and Patrick are friendly and very considerate hosts who have created a casual, intimate place with one of the best sea views on the Caribbean. The road up to the place is rough. Make sure you have a capable 4-wheel drive of... More

We spent several days at Manicou River, which was like paradise. The open rooms look out on the valley and the bay and have wonderful cool breezes at all times. We felt like we were in the rainforest but with beautiful luxury of comfortable beds, hammocks, and warm showers. Kate and Patrick had just opened up their new restaurant and... More

Kate and Patrick are more than tremendous hosts...They embrace you like family. A week at Manicou River is too short, where you are treated to an exquisite paradise in the mountains and a true off-the-grid experience. Situated in the quiet north end of the island, you're never too far from excellent diving and otherworldly hiking in one of dozens of... More

My wife and I were treated to a moment in a paradise most will never know exists. Meeting owners Kate (Australian) and Patrick (Martinique) was an unplanned pleasure for which we cannot recommend highly enough. From the moment you approach this secluded getaway you feel the energy they have harnessed to bond you with the beautiful Dominica and its untouched... More

I mean it litterally. Get off the grid ! Prepare for breathtaking sunsets and endless talks at night. Expect to wake as the warmth of the morning takes over the chilly dampness of the night. My only regret is that I wasn't warned of the extend to which eco meant eco. Either then that, it is the perfect place to... More

We were in family at Manicou River, and spent a really good moment. Birds were very close to us, and it was magic to wake up the morning with Pigeons, Flycatchers, and Wrens singing around us!! The nights were cool with the sound of the rain on the roof.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing three day stay. High recommendation, if you like ocean views, modern appliances and first class creature comforts in a posh treehouse environment. Kate took amazing care of us--even identified & changed one of our tires that became deflated over night. They're building a restaurant to come soon too.

Our family stayed at Manicou River in December, and we had a thouroughly enjoyable visit. We woke each day to spectacular views of the Caribbean, ate amazing fruit from the island, and enjoyed full access to wildlife as the birds came and went as they pleased. The owner was extremely helpful and made sure our stay was pleasurable. Manicou River... More
