This was my first time traveling to the Yucutan Penninsula and I wanted an experience away from the resorts and all inclusives. I found Posada Sirena on Tripadvisor and e-mailed her directly. Sirena was so fast in responding and communication in setting up our trip was great. We stayed in Punta Allen at Posada Sirena's for 7 nights (I wish... more

With numerous trips around the Yucatan, Three to Punta Allen, and my second stay with Sirena, I would not trade the experience for anything. Sirena has made lemonade out of lemons subsequent to last August' hurricane. Her tropical garden area is my outdoor home there, a place for visitors to gather, socialize and make plans. Sirena bounced back from the... more

We stayed in the Casa Grande with a kitchen and more than enough room for our family of 4. Traveling with kids can be stressful, so showing up at Sirena's was the best thing we could have done! We felt completely welcome, cared for, all our needs attended to, and Sirena somehow knew just what would put the frosting on... more

Punta Allen is a fascinating place, and we loved our experiences of the local people and nature there. However, we feel it is important to let travellers know what they will be really experiencing when they take the time and trouble to journey to Posada Sirenas. Initially the owner is friendly and welcoming. This is not a b&b and should... more

Go to Sirena's If you like: Barefoot versus sandals Stunning deserted beaches Feeling safe, surrounded by a beautiful garden Crystal clear, blue Caribbean water Snorkeling near the 2nd largest barrier reef right off the coast Loggerhead turtles Colorful birds Dolphins swimming in the wild Hammocks Thatched roofs And best of all, an intriguing and beautiful hostess, the mermaid, Sirena! more

Posada Sirena is a haven in the heart of Punta Allen...where the hands of a clock move like cold molasses. A place where peace on Earth does exist, and peace in your soul can be replenished. You can fall asleep with a smile on your face (I have pictures to prove it) in a hammock in the garden outside your... more

My wife and I and a few friends spent our vacation in Punta Allen at Posada Sirena, and after six days, it was very difficult to leave. The village is largely untouched by tourism, yet has everything that one needs to be comfortable, including great food and drinks on the beach and friendly, welcoming residents. At the Posada, guests stay... more

Punta Allen feels like the last place on earth - tiny and literally at the end of the road. It's the antithesis of Cancun and tourist-ridden Mayan Riveria to the north. Sirena's welcome is warm, her little hotel simple and comfortable. The electrical service is occasional and there's (happily) no TV or radio, but it's a great spot from which... more

Staying at Posada Sirena in Punta Allen was the most amazing and fun experience of my life. Out of every vacation I've been on I've never found myself wanting to stay. Infact, I'm usually the one wanting to go home. Punta Allen was different though. I found myself wanting to stay. I loved it. I fell in love with Sirena,... more

Our 10 day stay in Punta Allen was fantastic. I am loathe to say much because, selfishly, we don't want it to change. We avoid touristy spots and are a northwest hiking/camping family...so we prefer rustic stays close to nature. That is what we got. We stayed at Posada Sirena owned and operated by a charming woman who was dubbed... more
