A buddy and I spent three days fishing and four nights at the Pesca Maya lodge. It is a very laid back, relaxing place to stay. Jesus was very amenable, happy to accommodate any needs, ie, extra sunscreen, earlier breakfast, borrow a lighter, take a cooler to the room..."todos bueno"...all good. Fishing - I'm fairly experienced trout fly-flishing and had... More

Felipe and Alfonso took my 10 year old and I out yesterday for an epic day on the water. Felipe was great with my boy and kept us moving to insure we caught a lot of fish. The road to pesca maya is a nightmare - we should have taken the boat ride... but once we showed up it was... More

I just returned from a four night, three day stay at Pesca Maya. This was a solo trip and I gave it 'five green dots' because it had everything I was after: a bed, shower, toilet, A/C, food, beer and most importantly world class fishing. I'll do my best to break it down as I experienced it: Cancun International Airport:... More

I'd heard about Pesca Maya but my trip to Playa del Carmen was a family vacation so I had to search for two day trips to see if I could check off the Permit and Bonefish boxes on my list of goals. The lodge picked me up in Carmen at 6:00 a.m. picking up folks from Cancun, Playa and anyplace... More

Just came back from two days at Pesca Maya and can't wait to return. My wife is a travel agent, and she had set us up to visit The El Dorado Casitas Royale, just south of Cancun. Knowing my love for fishing and my inability to sit still, she found Pesca Maya and made arrangements for me to travel down... More

I spent an amazing 5 days at Pesca Maya, Punta Allen. Trip started well being met at the airport by the driver who looked after all my bags and provided a simple and easy transfer to the lodge. The lodge is a great combination of laid back Mexican charm and fisherman friendly functionality. My room was literally a few yards... More

This was my first trip to Pesca Maya. I will return. The road south of Tulum is bad but after 20 minutes of potholes we switched to a boat for the last half hour of the trip. I was the only fisherman at the lodge during my stay. There were daytrip fisherman every day though. My room was great. The... More

Thanks to the previous weeks hurricanes in Mexico my fishing buddy Chris and I foud we had the lodge and pretty much the whole of Ascension Bay to ourselves for a recent week at the end of September. No matter as the bonefish, tarpon and permit were waiting for us. In fact one day we hit a school of permit... More

Took a group down there to fly fish for bonesfish and permit. One of our group got a super grand slam - a rare feat anywhere. The food and rooms at the Robinson House were excellent and the guides very good. This lodge is improving with many new amenities. I hear they have just gone solar too. Highly recommended. We so wanted this to be a great excursion and it all started out pretty well...but after the 3.5 hr drive plus unexpected boat ride to the lodge, we were already getting a little skeptical. After a nice home cooked breakfast and before we set out, we asked our guide (Felipe) about fishing licenses. He and the other people at... More

Pesca Maya Fishing Lodge opened its doors on January 1996 and has quickly become one of the Yucatan's most popular fishing destinations and with good reason. There are 11 rooms in 3 buildings, all with A/C and private bathroom with walk-in showers, most with oceanview. Located in a solitary white sand beach, turquoise water and a magnificent coral reef at 90 yards from the beach.
