My dad, husband and I where here for day fishing. The guide Eli was amazing he knew how to adapt the fishing strategies to each of our individual fly fishing abilities. Great trip and I would recommend anyone who fly fishes or is learning to check it out!

Just returned from Mexico where we arranged a days fishing with Pesca Maya. I have fished with this company on a couple of occasions three years ago with great success so I decided to give them another go whilst on a family holiday in Akumal. We checked out their website for the latest day trip itineraries and costs. My friend... More

Hello guys: I am sorry about the bad weather. You spoke with my wife over the phone, sorry on the confusion on the pick up time, Akumal is always 6:15 AM, I am glad that the driver got there on time. Waiting for the couple that got to the dock was annoying, I understand but on the other hand it... More

We spent a week in Akmumal and the person at our resort's excursion desk arranged for us to spend a dat of birding through the mangroves of Si'an Ka'an along with snorkeling near the reef in Asuncion Bay. The Pesca Maya Fishing Lodge handled the early morning pick up from our resort (a one hour dive to the spot where... More

My husband booked a day trip in August (the lodge's off-season) and I stayed behind to hang out at the lodge. We were both pleased. The lodge cooked me lunch even though I was the only one there when the fishing guides and tourists left (I felt bad, but I was hungry). They made me feel very at home. My... More

Despite having torrential rains for the first 2 days of a 3 day trip, our guide, Henry Rodriguez, and his assistant, Rosendo Briseno, persevered. Great eyes, always aware of the wind direction, strong on the push pole, very fishy guides-everything you want for a fly fishing guide. I've also had Pancho Xec in the past, and he is very good,... My wife and I just returned from a four night stay with four days fishing at Pesca Maya. Objectively, I was down at PM last year and wrote a review then under the same profile that I'm using today. I loved it then and love it now. I'll do my best to break down transports, fishing, dining, accommodations and anything... More

In connection with a spring break trip to Playa del Carmen, I booked a day trip to Pesca Maya for me and my teenage kids. I had been to Pesca Maya the year before for a multiday fly fishing trip and wanted to share the experience with them. The van picked us up on time in PDC and we stopped... More

My husband and I recently spent a week at Pesca Maya and fished 6 days. We have nothing but great remarks for the lodge and guides. We chose this location because of the reputation for catching large numbers of fish. We were not disappointed. Since it had been over 7 years since we last went bone fishing, we wanted some... More

I went for a day trip fishing and brought my wife along to see some wildlife and enjoy the views while I fished. We are both Canadian and I fish a lot in lakes and rivers. We were picked up from our resort and dropped off the same day. The shuttle stopped at several resorts and was full heading in... More

I went for a one day fishing trip and felt it was not worth the money. I have fished with many guides before but never had one that gave you the feeling of not caring if you caught fish or not. Phillipe's first mate let the fly line go under the boat or stepped on it while I was casting... More
