Friendly welcome. Owner speaks English well. The breakfast had everything you could possibly need to eat and so much you hardly need lunch! Room was very spacious with a table and bench space as well. 15 min walk to lake or use the free little bus from the mini golf park 50 yards from hotel. If you have a car... More

Sometimes away from the bustle of the five star hotels and the concrete jungles, one remembers the basics of hospitality. Willie and his wife not only made me feel at home, but in the background of the Alps, it was better than home. Willie was gracious enough to even pick me up from the train station. The food was brilliant.... More

Willie & Dorothea are the best hosts. The rooms are quaint, the hotel has character, and the service is superlative. It is a place to stay and visit. They know so much of the community and the attractions that you won't get bored. It is a very friendly bike hotel. They provided a lockup, gave us space to clean our... More

We arrived at the hotel very late, after the restaurant had been closed. We were sure that we had to look for something to eat outside, but we were surprised to be kindly invited to eat a schinzel that was also very tasty!!! The owners are very kind and very polite and welcomed us very warmly, they did their utmost... More

I believe the hotel is in the process of being renovated: on our 2 rooms, one had an old style bathroom and the other one a brand new, modern bathroom. Renovating is always a good thing, but be aware that experiences may vary. Both bedrooms looked similar, old style, although quite spacious. There is no lobby per se, only a... More

The rooms are a little dated, the TV is from the '70s, but adds to the charm. By European standards, the rooms are quite large. The people who run this place are really customer oriented, friendly, professional,,, really excellent. And the restaurant is really very good. Food and service are top notch, and prices are most reasonable. Location, if driving... More

This hotel/restaurant provided great restaurant meals, lovingly prepared by the owner/chef and a fabulous breakfast. We were offered a newly renovated room that was firts class. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was that Bernau am Chiemsee is not directly on the Chiemsee, as its name suggests. All in all however this was a really pleasant stay.

Excellent hotel – very good welcome on checking in. Comfortable beds. Very good breakfast. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended. Very near to the Chiemsee, which is lovely and not to be missed (including one of Ludwig’s castles on one of the islands).

Stayed here for one night while driving the German Alpine Road. Stayed at a studio unit with two separate bedrooms. Hotel has a rustic look and comfortable. Was late in checknig in but owners left a welcome package on the door with instructions. Owners spoke English well and offers nice personal services.
