Lovely rooms (we stayed in the family suite), tasty breakfast and beautiful house and garden (and tree house). We were made to feel very welcome by the owners who recommended a great chateau to visit that suited our boys. Odile spoke v good English.

After a long journey from Le Havre, this was a perfect place to unwind and relax. What a beautiful looking house - the gorgeous shutters adding a touch of Provence in the Loire. There was plenty of space for our toddler to run around and explore - the treehouse was a real highlight, as was the trampoline. Our family room... More

Staying at Le Chataigner for 4 nights, as a base to explore the Loire valley Chateau in the area, was a wonderful experience. The owners, Odile & Jean Joseph were fabulous hosts and looked after us very well, giving us advice on places to visit, restaurants to eat at and generally making us feel at home. The room we had... Our family stopped here for two nights on our way up to Calais after three weeks in France. Our boys (4 and 7) immediately fell in love with the grounds (which include a climbing frame and a tree house) and we all loved our beautiful room which was spotless and with a very effective shower (which we all needed after... This was a perfect place to start our holiday. Very picturesque setting within a huge and beautiful garden - with a treehouse and trampoline. Lots of space for the children to run around after being in the car. Great location for exploring the Loire valley and all the Chateaux. Very hospitable and welcoming owners - who gave us tips on... We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our first night in France! Pete and I arrived pretty shattered, having ridden on the motorbike from Caen, and were in need of somewhere to rest our weary bones. le Chataignier, with our wonderful, genuine and friendly hosts, did the trick beautifully. The double room was spacious and cool;... More

My wife and I stayed here on a Saturday night on our way back to the ferry. We arrived later than recommended in the literature, however, with a swift phone call to Odile, we were reassured that we would welcome at whatever time we arrived. A more welcoming and accommodating couple you will struggle to find running such a well... More

This B&B is in a beautiful rural location but close to Chinon (well worth a visit). For families, the accomodation is ideal: spacious with plenty of room but private as well - just beware the sloping ceiling in one of the bedrooms! Odile and Joseph were very cordial hosts and English-speaking Odile was very helpful in terms of where to... More

Wonderful B&B, beautiful garden, first class service. A charming retreat and friendly hosts. A brilliant treehouse in the garden for children to explore. My only complaint, a soft mattress, but otherwise a lovely place.
