Alan and James run a truly wonderful guesthouse. The decor is warm and charming, the rooms are great and the food is first rate. If you like scotch whisky, the bar is truly sensational, with over 300 single malts to choose from. An absolute gem nestled in some of the most stunning scenery I've ever seen.

We stayed here for one night in two rooms as there were 4 of us. We were thrilled with the food and with Alan's hospitality and knowledge of whisky. The rooms did not thrill us at all. I found them creepy and the heater kept breaking, so it was quite cold, adding to the creepy feeling. Probably some of the... More

Stayed here Sept 17 and 18. I agree with Jesse d review. The room was OK. We stayed with friends and had rooms #$ and #6. The breakfast was ok but this was the only B&B I was at in Scotland where a bowl of porridge was considered a cooked breakfast. Every where else a bowl of porridge was part... More

We spent 3 nights at Tannochbrae in early September 2014. We really enjoyed Alan, his whisky, James' food, and the location. The building was a doctor's home and office converted to a guest house, so the halls, rooms, and baths are quaint and quirky. The bedrooms are packed tight with amenities. Our en suite bathroom was up and down a... More

We spent two nights at the Tannochbrae Guest House in July 2014. Very nice and friendly staff and beautiful room. Breakfast is very good. Didn't have dinner there but the other guests did say it was great. And if you are wanting to try a variety of whiskey, I believe they have the largest whiskey bar around. Highly recommend and... We stayed in this "guest house" for 2 nights. Our first inpression was good. The owner was friendly when we checked in. The rooms were not too bad, but not very cheap. But: There was a whiskybar with lot's of choise. But the price? Started at about 7 pounds. All the whisky's where way too expensive. How do I know... More

The hotel is nice and has tons of atmosphere. The host/proprietor tries to be friendly, but he does seem to lack the warm friendliness of most Scots. The selection of whisky's is mouth watering, unfortunately the prices give you heartburn. Just a few doors down the road is a great local pub, the royal oak inn, with a great selection... More

We disturbed Allan while taking a nap, but that dit nothing to his friendly welcome. A very nice B&B. Good rooms, clean and with good beds. A quiet place in the night, no traffic noise reached the room at the back. Great breakfast, very well cooked. The place also has a restaurant and a whisky bar. There is free Wifi... More

We spent one night in this very nice GuestHouse in Duftown. It is more than a B&B, nearly a hotel with only a few rooms. Room was very lovely and absolutely clean. Breakfast was outstanding, you can chose from a menu in addition to the buffet. The Scottish Breakfast was great, freshly made. The host was very friendly and helpful.... More

Travelled to Dufftown for a meeting in Glen Dullan Distillery the following morning, luckily found a room at the Tannochbrae, food was excellent with the best carrots I have ever tasted baked in butter with star anise, the owner Allan and his staff could not have been any nicer, don't be out off by the Guest House status it is...
