Even a week before our arrival at Karen's B&B, we knew it will be a wonderful stay, due to our lovely email correspondence and her great desire to help out with everything possible. She even arranged for us to have a spot at the Glenfiddich tour at the distillery near by, that was splendid. Right upon hearing it was our... More

Karen is delightful and welcomed us by name as we arrived at Fernbank. In a way, it was like staying with a distant relative who welcomes you with open arms, shows you the rooms, and then lets you be alone instead of peppering you with questions. So really it's better than staying with family :) She cooked a wonderful breakfast... More

My husband and I totally enjoyed our overnight stay at Fernbank. As the other reviews have said, Karen is the consummate host and creates a warm and welcoming environment. Our room was nice and snug and breakfast was amazing - scrambled eggs with a large helping of thick slices of smoked salmon! Yum. Note that as with many B&Bs, check... More

I stayed at Fernbank, Dufftown 25,26 and 27 September 2014. for the Autumn Whisky Festival. Karen was so friendly and helpful. The accommodation and public rooms were outstandingly. presented spotlessly clean and welcoming.I always took the traditional breakfast in the mornings and it was excellent. The hostess went the extra mile in all categories.

We had a wonderful time here. Karen is the best, and was SO welcoming and helpful about everything. Gave us recommendations about which places to visit, and they were all perfect. I have pills that need to be refrigerated, and she kept them in her fridge. I casually mentioned that I need to take one at night, and when we... More

Simply superb - from the friendliest of welcomes with tasty refreshments, lovely, spotless en-suite rooms with an excellent bed. The cosey lounge was ideal for those "in-between" times. Breakfasts were just the best - every possible whim catered for. Quality guaranteed! This lovely B&B is run by the delightful host, Karen, to whom nothing was too much trouble - ALWAYS... More

This is my third stay here. Karen was here usual friendly helpful self. You won't have a better cooked breakfast at any other b&b. Great ingredients from the local butcher. It's about 30min pleasant walk into town, past the Glenfiddich distillery.

Excellent quality, cleanliness, and many extra touches. Karen is warm, friendly, and fun. We felt immediately welcomed and the B&B was our home. Karen helped us with golf, distillery tours, and dinner recommendations. We made it to several additional attractions based on her guidance and were very pleased with our experience. We had to leave early on our last day... More

We stayed at Fernbank last November with friends - a surprise weekend for David's 70th birthday. Right from the off Karen made us all most welcome. We stayed two nights with Dinner Bed & Breakfast - home cooking of the best kind! We took in the Glen Grant Distillery on the Friday and Glenfiddich on the Saturday - we would... More

An excellent place to stay if you want to be near the distilleries and other attractions in this beautiful part of Scotland. The house itself is charming, well decorated and furnished, and spotlessly clean throughout. There's a lovely garden with a babbling brook, all in a quiet, peaceful setting about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Dufftown (on... More
