Accommodation is basic, we stayed in a double chalet with fan (wooden hut with just bed and fan, attached bathroom with cold water shower, concrete floor, but flushing toilet). We were initially a little worried as no mozzie net, but the hut is pretty well sealed with mesh guards and we didn't really have any issues. The room was also... More

This owner and his wife are very friendly. They have two kind of houses. The very cheap and old ones (made by his own) with fan (they are not so clean anymore), and the new ones (with a fantastic view and with airco). Breakfast is free and the evening is great to spend in the restaurant.

We had a fantastic stay at Mat Leon Village. We stayed in a Fan Bungalow, which was clean but very basic: it had a bathroom that was basically just a toilet, a cold shower and a sink; it also featured a spacious room (bring your own mosquito net!) and a nice front porch with jungle view and chairs. It was... More

We tried several times to book a chalet at Mat Leons Village in advance, but we received no confirmation nor any other kind of reply at all. Therefore, we asked the staff of the boat jetty when arriving at Kuala Tahan to call Mat Leons Village for us. Surprisingly, they had free rooms and picked us off from the boat... More

Slept for three nights, Very basics, but a clean room with just a light bulb, 2 power socks and a (cold) shower. No mosquitoes if you are careful when closing doors and windows at night. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is nice and quiet. Breakfast is simple but plenty. Make sure that you arrange with people when you make... More

Slept for three nights, it's a bit out of town but Mat picked us up with his awesome Jeep. Good valued jungle bungalows, very back to basics but that is what the Taman Negara is about. Expect a room with just a light bulb, 2 power socks and a (cold) shower. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is nice and... More

1. We stayed at the basic chalet with adjoining toilet with a large queen bed and a double Decker.Costs RM5o per day. The chalet was dry, clean but very basic. The toilet may not be palatable to Westerners and city dwellers but it does flush properly and with cold shower. Blankets and towels provided. Never mind there is no AC... More

Before we checked out, I was ready to give this place an average 3 star review. The place is basic, as expected but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights sleep. Location is about a 15 minute walk from the main town, nice and isolated in the jungle right on the riverbank. Our 4 bed dorm was ok, beds creaky... More

We came to the Mat Leon Village a few days ago. As the pictures present it, the place it's ROOTS but the atmosphere is really amazing. The two brothers with their families host you in their world. They are very kind and flexible, always on time, very organized and mostly very PROFESSIONAL (for example, we borrowed them their motorcycle to... More

Stayed at Mat Leon three nights with my family ( children 5 and 7). We stayed in one of the basic chalets for 80 RM. but AC rooms are available. We thoroughly envoyed the secluded feeling, jungle sounds all night through and the river view. The Food at the restaurant was far better than at the Floating restaurants. Mat picked... More
