Tahan Guesthouse This was certainly one of the best guesthouses we stayed in on our Journey through Asia (6 Months now, so we already stayed in a lot of different hotels). The rooms are clean and tidy, the beds are comfortable and the bedsheets washed and clean, mosquito net provided, you can lock the room properly (not the cheap round... More

Rm 50 for a clean double with clean private bathroom, mosquito net, soap provided. Friendly owner. Basic at a basic price, would stay again at this colourful guest house. The only negative was the mosque next door had prayers over the PA at 6am, but it only lasts a few minutes.

We wasn't expecting much out of the small town but this little colourful guesthouse was ideal. Mosquito net, handy desk and chairs in room, in a quite area with just the noise of the bugs at night and birds singing in the morning. The owner is lovely and very smiley :)

Naturally friendly owner. Nice location, good jungle sound at night time, nice room structure with big window for views and sounds of the jungle. Wall painting of jungle animals. 40 RM / night. Pretty awesome place!

In our travels in Malaysia, this was a step above most other guest houses. Yes it's basic (no a/c, squat toilet) but it's spotless and well-cared-for. There are murals painted on the walls, mosquito nets above the beds so you can sleep with the windows open, and the family that runs the place is friendly and helpful. We left our... More

This is the sixth year in a row that I stay in the Tahan Gust House. In fact I often travel to Taman Negara where I conduct a research. The property have a very nice garden where you can rest in the evening reading and relaxing. The room, as many travelers wrote, are basic but very clean and comfortable. Moreover,... More

Have the owners changed? We were looked after by a man, and having looked at the other reviews I have noticed a women is mentioned, the room was very basic and yes we had the hole in the floor toilet and the awful smell. We stayed in March 2014, on the ground floor round the back of the building, and... More

We stayed here in March 2014 and our room was broken into. Not only were our belongings taken or smashed to pieces but the room was completely smeared with faeces. Not that there was a toilet to use anyway should the robbers have wished to as it was just a hole in the ground! When we told the guest house... More

We were offered a downstairs, back room; T4. Room very basic. Toilet a hole in the ground which when ever you flushed, a horrific aroma of faeces and urine would fill the bedroom. Below standard, but on how much we were paying a night you can't complain I guess. Although this is no where near as bad as our last... More
