We chose this hotel as it was recommended by Trip Advisor contributors and it accepted dogs. We travel extensively world wide with our small dog who is clean, friendly, used to hotels and very well behaved. We were en route from Lisbon to Waterloo and it was a good place to spend a night. As we walked through the door... More

We had booked to stay at the Hotel de la Paix as it was handy for visiting Thiepval Memorial. On arrival you can park outside if you are lucky enough, but otherwise you can park just over the road in the hotels car park. We checked in with a not very talkative man and went to the room. It seemed... More

I think the comments about the owner are true. Not overly welcoming would sum it up. The hotel is comfortable enough though and close to the centre of Albert so very convenient. The rooms are comfortable but a long way from luxurious! Breakfast at 11 euros is a bit expensive for what it is. The dining room does not open... More

This hotel is fine in geographical terms, and Albert is a perfectly pleasant French town. However the owner made no attempt to welcome us, merely telling us our room number and which floor. We made a big mistake in believing those reviews which said the food is good or better - it isn't! My market salad was lettuce , sweet... More

This hotel is very basic, and suits your needs if you just want a bed and good access to the Somme battlefields. That's it though. Firstly, the place is scruffy and dated. Secondly, the staff are unfriendly - our French is very basic and so is their English but a welcome smile crosses any langauge barrier, but it appeared smiling... More

Hotel on main road which was busy all night. Room stuffy and airless, noisy without opening window. Chap who booked us in completely indifferent, gave us the key and said first floor. The bed was comfortable but couldn't sleep because of traffic. Glad to escape!

We stayed here for a four day visit to the battlefields of the Somme. The hotel is in the centre of the small town of Albert and is ideally situated for visits to the surrounding area. The rooms were comfortable, parking was easy and the one night we decided to eat there, we had a very good meal. Highly recommended.

Stayed here in November to get a quick battlefield fix. Hotel location is very good, only a short walk into the centre of Albert. Stayed here on a Sunday night so no restaurant or bar was available. Room is very basic, think 70's decor, although for the most part it was all clean and comfortable, but could definitely use a... More

stayed here for one night as part of a WW1 pilgrimage. Ideal for Somme. Staff very helpful and friendly, room was adequate and very clean. The bar, well stocked and adjacent a comfortable television room pleasantly decorated in a contemporary style. Restaurant, we enjoyed very much, cuisine excellent, wine also excellent. Car parking free on the street outside. Hotel several... More

Great for visiting the Somme battlefields as centrally located. Free parking outside and free wifi. Albert is an agreeable little town with a beautiful church. Rooms are pretty tired and ideally would need some renovation but comfortable enough. Bathroom very small but serviceable. The really good thing about this hotel is the food. Well presented and very well cooked, just... More
