If you are a history buff, then this location is ideal. Don't expect anything fancy. It is basic, but adequate with some quirky aspects. The food though is fantastic.

I really wonder if some of the recent reviewers actually stayed at the same hotel as us. It is most definitely an old fashioned French provincial hotel with all that that usually means eg, dark decor and tiny bathrooms but it was comfortable, neat and spotlessly clean. Yes, the flush on the toilet was loud but this is because it...

Booked this hotel as we wanted to stay close to the Somme battlefields, and also to the centre of Albert. It was a terrible mistake. Reception was a srcuffily dressed chap who gave me the key and a 26 long code to access WiFi. We went up a gloomy dirty stairway to our room. The room was dirty, cobwebs on the...

A comfortable old style family hotel. The owner and staff were friendly and spoke enough English for us to understand them. Good location and the restaurant on the premises served lovely food, including a continental breakfast.

We only stayed for one night. There was no problem to bring our labrador to the restaurant, where we had dinner and breakfast. The rooms are a bit dated, bur fair for the price. The same goes for the restaurant. The food is quite alright, but no gourmet experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Parking in a safe...

My partner & I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in June 2010 as we were there touring the battlefields.
This hotel is very central for Albert town centre & anyone visiting the Somme battlefields. The back of the hotel looks onto the Town Hall, the front, onto the street leading to the town centre. However it is still very...

I have stayed here quite a lot of times while touring the battlefields with 3 other friends. It is only rated as a basic hotel, but it is clean, you are made very welcome and it has a bar and restraunt, what more could you ask. It is a typical quirky french hotel, but isn't that better than a multi...

A modest two star hotel located in central Albert, France. Our check-in was delayed as the door was locked upon our arrival. We rang the suggested number on the door, however no-one answered and were left waiting for 10-15 minutes outside, fortunately the weather was good. Finally a gentlemen arrived to let us in and so the check-in process began....

We spent two nights at the Hotel de la Paix as part of a tour of the Somme and Ypres-Salient. When we booked, we were told to advise the hotel if we would be arriving after 2pm as it was a Saturday and reception was not open at that time. We arrived at 6pm and there was a sign on...
