The hotel appears to be o. The edge of an industrial estate but don't let that put you off. The rooms are very clean and comfortable - especially the beds. Excellent selection for breakfast (extra €12) and very friendly staff all of whom speak good English if that is something you worry about. Ten minute walk into the town of... More

We stayed at this Hotel in Albert for two days to visit the Australian WW1 battlefields and graves. The hotel from the outside looks like a cheap Russian Castle however looks are deceiving. The rooms are small with separate toilet and bathroom (both separate rooms) however they are clean and seem to do though you would not want large suitcases.... More

A good place to stop over en route from Cote d'Azur to Britain or as a base camp for exploring the Somme battlefields. Nothing luxurious, rooms are smallish but clean, comfortable and functional, with coffee making facilities, restaurant is ok, and breakfast ample. Staff are charming and very helpful. All round very decent and pleasant place to stay and good value for money

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here, nice sizeable rooms, clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel were tasty and had plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful and we appreciated their ability to speak English. Would recommend anyone to stay here, found the area very peaceful and relaxing.

I don't understand a couple of negative descriptions of the exterior of this hotel, I thought the same as my grandson Connor, it was like a little castle in the middle of the somme. Anyway to my review, this hotel is 100% the perfect spot for touring this part of the Somme. From check in to check out the experience... More

At first glance the outside of this hotel does look strange. We had travelled in to Albert to search for Hotel de la Basilique (first hotel in Albert listed by Trip Advisor) only to discover it was closed on Mondays. So we travelled back out of Albert towards the strange-looking hotel. So pleased we did. On entering the hotel I... More

Looks very weird from outside, but we were surprised by the friendly staff, comfortable room and good restaurant. Many tourists doing the same as us, visiting the tragic battlefields and, in our case, one special war cemetery where a relative was buried in 1916. Albert isn't a very exciting town, but was far quieter to stay in than Amiens.

Called in on the off chance having been let down by the standard and sight of the chateau we had booked during the week of the Somme ceremonies. To my surprise and much relief they had a vacancy which Deborah on reception volunteered to show me. To be frank after what we had experienced earlier I think I would have... More

Stayed overnight as a stop over to Germany, from the outside the hotel looks like something out of Beirut, inside its a different story. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of wine and beer, we where planning on eating out, but ate at the hotel, food was excellent. Breakfast next morning... More
