I am thinking this was a top resort in the 60s/70s. It still has some quality features, and is very clean, just dated. Pleasant walk to downtown area for dinner, good breakfast value at hotel. Nice and professional staff. Absolutely beautiful views- I hope to come back!

Stayed here for 1 night in October. First impressions are of a hotel slightly stuck in the past, but this isn't always a bad thing. The hotel is a crescent shape which gives most rooms really good views of the town below and the sea. The room again slightly dated but excellent value with a lovely balcony. Dinner was served... We stayed one night on our way to the Pyrenees. We had a balcony room with a view of the village and the sea. Spectacular! We chose the half board because we were tired and the food in the restaurant was tasty and the service very good. The room itself was so-so but the view made up for it. The... More

My wife and I have stayed at 12 different hotels in 4 countries during our 5-week vacation in Europe. Of those, I would rank Le Catalan among the top 3 hotels. We stayed here 3 nights. We had a spacious room on the top floor with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. The beds were comfortable and the room was... More

We stayed here for one night whilst touring on our motorbikes. Lovely caring staff with a great welcome, great room, wonderful views, and breakfast was plentiful and varied. Plenty of parking. Just beware if you are using sat nav - if it leads you to a steep, rough road, you need to make a u turn and take the next... More

Situated about 1 kilometres from town centre on a height which provides a great view of both town and sea. Plenty of parking available. Inside is a pleasant reception area and a good restaurant /dining room. Had lunch on arrival which was very tasty and served quickly. Bedroom was typically 3* French hotel, somewhat tired, smallish and could do a... More

We stayed here in early April low season and everywhere was very quiet even on a Friday night. We had asked for a sea view room and would strongly recommend that to anyone booking here - the view from our little balcony was just amazing. Even with a stong wind blowing we were sheltered enough to enjoy an aperitif sitting... More

You get good value, good space and nice breakfast. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Its close to beautiful places, and very good alternative if you come with a car. Much better value than you get in colliure.

Luckily for me, my stay coincided with the Banyuls "Fete des Vendanges" weekend (2nd in October). The town was buzzing with people sampling the "free" wines (just had to buy a glass!) from the local vineyards and different bands playing everywhere - very friendly and a great atmosphere. Even better, I was able to have the special "Diner des Vignerons"... More

This hotel is situated in the hills above Banyuls, providing a beautiful view on the town and its beach and harbour. When we checked-in, we found the staff very friendly and we were upgraded without asking to the sea view side of the hotel ! Very nice :) It is indeed only 10 minutes to walk down to town, but...
