The Celeste Mountain Lodge is a fantastic hotel located in the mountain close to Bijagua. It enjoys a breathtaking view on the rain forest with no other sounds but those made by the surrounding wildlife. Despite the constraints due to its eco-friendly conception, the hotel provides a very good level of service with rooms that are comfortable and elegantly designed.... More

The property is surrounded by beautiful forests, hills, and gardens. Lots of birdlife, and we saw toucans from a distance. There is an amazing view from the restaurant. I would return to Rio Celeste for 3 reasons: 1) meals are excellent and prepared with fresh ingredients, 2) an incredible nature trails that twists along the mountain side where I saw... More

This lodge has the best rooms, best philosophy, best breakfast, best lunch, best dinner, best staff, best location in the area, best view, compared to all hotels/lodges/... I have been so far in Costa Rica. If this not enough already, what else?

An overview: This hotel is passionate about its Eco credentials. You will be given a two sided sheet with rules and history of the building, which felt dictatorial. The food here is superb and eaten at set times with all the guests. The staff are all lovely. The reality of staying here is rather unsettling as Joel is very much... More

We thank Mrs J. for her mixed comments. Please allow us to respond. Indeed Celeste Mountain Lodge is unique, in its concept and in its management style. We are sorry Mrs J. felt our recommendations "dictatorial", these were put in place either for safety reasons or logistics (dinner time for ex. we are remote) or simply so our guests can... More

We stayed here for two nights and visited Rio Celeste. We spent four days in the very hot Tamarindo prior to this hotel so the rain was a welcomed change. Joel, the owner, greeted us and always made us feel welcome. I thought that the numerous rules might be a bad sign when we first arrived but it is clear... More

Warm and friendly staff. Delicious meals and very cool ambiance in the dining area. I loved that the hotel is completely sustainable using food from their own garden, composting, solar energy and a lot of the furniture is up-cycled. We loved it.

We have stayed there for 2 nights with our 2 kids, and it was really amazing ! The lodge is really beautiful, the rooms are clean and the staff is so nice and helpful. The food was incredibly good, we are vegetarian and had special menus for us, it was delicious. It was raining most of the time, but we... More

nice location and garden for this hotel, a pity that ecological doesn't mean comfort for them, sheets were humid for the 2 nights, food wasn't good, no real comfortable place to sit when raining heavy outside

We thank this lady( from Paris) for her comments. To which we will not pay too much attention. Indeed the climate has been very humid, besides we are in a tropical country and we make up the beds just a few hours before guests arrival, nothing we can do about humidity level. The food was not good, oh well, we will... More
