I recently stayed at Posada Rio Celeste for 2 nights with my husband and 3 friends. This is a very special place. After reading other reviews, we knew going in that the rooms would be "rustic," so that didn't bother us. Yes, the walls are extremely thin and there are a lot of bugs (but there's mosquito netting around the... More

This is my first trip to Costa Rica, and I have spent almost 2 weeks traveling the north, west, and now southern zone. By far my favorite place that I've stayed was La Amistad / Rio Celeste. My room was clean (and had a television), the food was good (and plentiful), the people warm, and I felt safe here (as... More

Yep it is a rustic place and that was what I was looking for. If you expect luxury accomodations, this is not the place. Yep, I was eaten alive by the mosquitos, but if you are prone, just wear long sleeves and pants at dusk, the rest of the day is ok. I loved the feeling of being in a... More

We had a fantastic two night stay here. It's very rustic and rural but this just adds to the charm. The mornings were great... Get up early, ask for an extra cup of coffee and watch the birds that flock to the bananas that are hung around the garden. We saw countless hummingbirds, parrots and toucans, among plenty others. The... More

The facilities are very basic - room with very thin walls - with lots of spaces for mosquitoes (they do provide mosquito nets) - we were very glad we had quiet neighbors - you can hear everything through the walls. A Costa Rican electric shower that provided lukewarm water. The room was not cleaned while we were out - not... More

Our first stop after escaping the all-inclusive. Rough road from Bijagua but by the time we arrived, felt we were finally in the Costa Rica we came to see. David and Elias and their family provide good value in their B&B rooms and typical Costa Rican casado and pico de gallo at meals. With little Spanish, smiles and laughter and... More

Thanks to a tip from Daniel at Sueno Celeste, we stopped at the Posada Rio Celeste B & B for lunch after our hike to view the Rio Celeste. This was the perfect place to relax and replenish ourselves before the bumpy ride back to the B & B. We were greeted very warmly by the family and served a... More

We slept here during our second night of the 1-week tour around Costa Rica. We arrived to the location during the night and we received typical costaricense food (included in the price, as well as the breakfast). They were out of beer and there was no place around to go buy some. Not too much food, but quite tasty. Room... More

from the moment we stepped into this place we were greeted by a family that runs the hotel and get treated like family the entire time. You really feel at home and amongst amazing birds and animals, hands down the best Rio Celeste tour and just an amazing place where you get a real feel for old time Costa Rica,... More

We stayed at Posada Rio Celeste for 3 nights in April and we immediately felt at home there. Elias and his entire family, who run the posada, are extremely welcoming, smiling and nice. The food is excellent - if sometimes a tad repetitive - and fresh. The location of the posada is great, walking distance from the Tenorio Park, and... More
