This establishment is a fascinating example of an old customs tower, turned into a monastery, then a prince's property, and now a working farm and hotel. The buildings are interesting and beautifully decorated in a rustic style. The dining areas and outside gardens areas are delightful, and there are even two ostriches! The hotel is owned by the matriarch of... More

Our family spent two weeks in Sicily in May/June 2014. We stayed 4 nights at this agritourismo, thinking we would use it a base on the western side of the island as we had several places in the region we wanted to visit (Palermo, Monreale, Erice, Segesta, and the Zingaro National Park (Scopello) and were leery of staying (and driving)... It may have been a mistake to have this as our first stay of two weeks in Italy... it might have been better after a week or more on the road. It is a dit difficult to find, even with a Garmin with the Italy download. To give you an idea, we reached a point not far from the first... More

We stayed oe night after visitiing Monreale before leaving Sicily the next day. It was a Monday night when the restaurant was closed. There had been a large wedding party the night before and a graduation party was scheduled for the next day. But thus sandwiched between parties, we were the only guests that night. Everything was fantastic. The surrounding... More

The charm & hospitality are second to none. They truly make you feel like you are family. The views of the village and country side are breathtaking. Can not wait until we return in October for our son's wedding. The family that own and operate the Casale del Principe truly go and above and beyond~

Our recent two night stay at Casale del Principe was near the end of our Sicilian vacation and in some ways, the timing was ideal as it was the perfect place for us to unwind and relax after two weeks of touring at a fairly fast pace. This is a family enterprise and from the first you feel the pride,... More

Arrived on a Sunday, they were unable to provide lunch as they were full, but promised to prepare a nice dinner for us. The wait and kitchen staff were so gracious as I believe we were the only guests at the hotel that night. Our table, in front of the warm of the fireplace, which was great since is was... More

This is a lovely "castle" - an estate dating back to the 16th century - that has been sensitively transformed into a wonderful relaxing resort with the promise of more amenities on the way. The hospitality of the staff is amazing! Mr. Cefalu and Ellen were infinantly patient with us as we struggled attempting to speak broken Italian. This is... More

When you drive to the Casa it feels like you drive into the middle of nowhere. We really thought we were going the wrong way. Buth when you arive, you will arrive at an amazing place. Use the route-description on the website! It is a beautifull spot. Ideal for visiting Monreale, Palermo etc. Diner is very nice. (Breakfast is good,... More

Wow. This is the true Sicily "castle" experience. Immaculate in every detail. We stayed two nights using it as a base for exploring Scavi del Monte Jato and Monreale. Beautiful setting in the mountains, 40 minutes from the Palermo airport = DELIGHTFUL! The meals in the evening were the best we had in 2 weeks in Sicily. Oh, MY!
