We had stayed at this small private chateau about 15 years ago and had enjoyed meeting the charming prince and his gardener brother. We came back with relatives and wanted to show them the castle, grounds and impressive tomato garden but decided to cut our visit short when the ladies in the gift shop were rude. When asked if the... More

If you to spend a night in a 15th century castle, this is definetly the place! With over 50 acres of land, is very quiet place to relax. Tennis court and swimming pool. Fantastic vegetable garden with over 400 different type of tomatoes. You can see the chef picking the vegetables and herbs for the dinner. Next to it the... More

We had a wonderful stay at this classic French chateau. The rooms were spacious clan and very comfortable .beautifully maintained grounds over looking gardens and woodlands. Drinks were very pleasant on the terrace followed by an excellent meal. Breakfast next morning was disappointing though, not a great deal of choice

This was a last minute. It was meant to be stop and go... but instead, we lingered all morning in the gardens. For our kids, seeing the most manicured vegetable and flower gardens was great. They picked their own zucchini, Melon.. and tomatoes. 650 varieties of tomato, a tomato bar... Rooms are spacious - We stayed in the Clos, which... More

Ive always wanted to stay in a chateau and this one didn't let us down, Friends stayed here last year so we had a first hand recommendation. We stayed only for one night on our whirlwind French roadtrip but I could definitely have stayed longer and used the chateau as a base to explore the magnificent Loire Valley . The... More

Chateau de la Bourdaisiere is situated in a beautiful garden setting and is famouns for its tomato festival. The rooms are all individually furnished and some of the accommodation is in the stables. The rooms in the stables are also very well appointed and a good size. The owner is a very interesting person and takes the time to chat... More

There are many chateaux to stay in in France, but this one was full of surprises. As well as a well-maintained historical building full of artifacts, the hands-on, friendly owner had 600+ varieties of tomato and there just happened to be a concert with world-class players on. Food very good, pool a little way from the building, gardens worth walking... More

Food quality definitely not there and choices very limited. Bar service was great. We were part of a bike tour and the staff actually seated another bike tour in the same room as us...it was awkward as we had the better chairs and tables. Strict rules about breakfast time and to be honest, smaller hotels had a much better selection... More

I stayed in three chateaus while on a bike trip in the Loire Valley. This was my least favorite. It is absolutely beautiful on the outside. My room was in the stables and it was up a set of steep stairs. The room was dark as there was only one window in it. The room was large. Had two single... More

My husband and I stayed here for just one night in a standard double room not in the chateau but in the adjoining building as I think all the rooms were taken up in the main chateau by a tour group. We were a little disappointed however, the room we had was huge with a lovely view out over the... More
