If you want the experience of staying in a real chateaux, rather than a chateaux which has been turned into a hotel, this is it. Although it is very spacious and the room we stayed in was large and very comfortable, we both agreed that this didn't feel like staying in a standard hotel. Having said that we really enjoyed... more

We decided to book the less expensive room in the 'pavillion' rather than the very expensive one in the chateau. I think it had only just been newly renovated. The rooms and bathrooms were huge - but the first on we were booked into had a really unpleasant smell and we were moved. The second room also had a similar... more

we spent two nights at the chateau and had a great time. it was great staying in an authentic chateau. All o the public rooms are open to lounge in and are full of antiques and various stuffed animals. Our room (Henri IV) had a large canopy bed and stone walls and a very large attached bathroom with claw-footed tub.... more

As we approached the Chateau it simply took my breath away.. the sun was shinning and it looked georgeous as you can see from my photograph. As we stopped our car outside we had a lovely young lady approach us and ask if we had a reservation, confirming who we were she helped us with our luggage to our rooms... more

This place is magnificant! Under new ownership, the service is super friendly and the rooms were very well kept. The grounds are breath-taking. I would stay there over and over again. more

I have to say this place is really beautiful. The grounds are extensive and very wooded and "midevil" feeling. I went with my 11 yr old daughter and we strolled through the surrounding woods...ancient (by America's standards) buildings. Meticulously manicured gardens and grounds with tons of Rosemary used as shrubbery just about everywhere. There was a very unkept and falling... more

The building is nice, of course. The room we stayed in was very poorly finished (carpets coming up from the bathroom floor, cupboards very 'rough and ready', etc.). The grounds are just okay compared to other places we stayed (La Verrerie - exquisite; Chateau Moulins - beautiful and private). The location is not ideal and there is no restaurant anywhere... more

Stayed there one night and it was beyond my expectations. Beautiful building (try to stay in the main building rather than the former stables). Unbelievable fairy-tale grounds. Extremely helpful and friendly service, expecially Maxime who is a treasure. Great garden - the gardener is an expert in heritage plants, and grows 400 varieties of tomatoes and 50 varieties of basil(!).... more

We spent 3 nights there in July 2004. The chateau is wonderful, the park is great, the tomato-flower gerden is pretty, swimming-pool is nice. Our room wasn't in the main building - we booked a budget room. A spacious room with exposed beams from the 16th century, it was clean but there was not a TVset or mini-bar. It was... more

Upon approaching the castle, we said "Oh wow!". Upon seeing our room, we said "Oh no...". The bed was lumpy (and my husband's side seemd about 3 inches higher), the bathroom had minimal amenities (and hot water), and the entire ground floor smelled of...something not good. On the positive side: the bathroom was clean, the grounds were beautiful, and the... more
