We only stayed here one night (as the accommodation we had booked was full for our first night) but enjoyed our brief stay. The room is very basic, but had all we needed and suited us fine. As our stay was so brief we did not use the kitchen. The staff were friendly. Perfect location. Great guest house for lone... More

I stayed at the Rio over Christmas and as a lone traveller it was perfect for me. I had a private single room with a shared bathroom and although the room's decor was a little dated, I was very comfortable there. The ceiling fan helped to ensure it was cool enough to sleep and the single bed was very comfortable.... More

Stayed here for a few days. Actually stayed in the apartment next door in a single room. The facilities were cleaned very well and regularly. The hosts were polite and friendly. The only downside were the toilet did not flush properly had to give it 6 flushes to get rid of everything. The other shame was the pots, pans and... More

Having spent a lot of money on expensive hotels over many years, we thought we'd try the economy option at Rio Guest House. It was a good decision. The only ground-floor room is spacious and includes a small adequate kitchen and bathroom for just USD 65/night. Obviously, the facilities weren't "First-Class" but were very reasonable for the cost. Only minor... More

Its a good place to stay. Its basic, but clean and the staff is friendly. The beach, lots of restaurants and public transportation are also close by. For a good value place to stay on the south coast I can recommend this place

I stayed at the RIO back in February 2014 and I really enjoyed staying there Its in the center of everything, the beach, restaurants and all the activities. The owner was very friendly and they were very helpful. I was having some issues taken care off at the embassy in Barbados and they were very accommodating. I would totally recommend... More

This is a great atmosphere for a budget traveller. I felt completely safe at the Rio Guesthouse. Very basic amenities, with shared spacious clean kitchen. Our room had a private shower and bathroom. There is a terrace upstairs to relax and socialize with the other guests. The real draw is the proximity to Dover Beach, a one minute walk, and... More

I stayed at RGH in mid-October. Check in was easy and fast. I was escorted to my room and shown how to use the safe. As a solo traveler, the room size was enough. The room was also clean and cleaned once during my four night stay. The bathroom was always clean, sanitary and available when I needed it. RGH... More

I am quite impressed with this place. The rate is pretty cheap and we received great service especially from Dennis. He was very informative and charming. There were hardly any dogs barking. It was always peaceful. The St Lawrence Gap is not too far from Rio's literally a 10 minute walk. Every night had music, food, people, it was just... More

As a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights (max.) to save some bucks, it is OK especially if you take a larger room ... but the bloody dogs yelping, crying, barking, fighting constantly is enough to drive you batty, plus those GD roosters never stop all trough the night. The house is in the middle of a more... More
