This review is long, long overdue; but I felt such a lovely place deserves another 5* review! Lovely house, comfy room, delightful knowledgeable friendly hosts (and dog), and a delicious breakfast. The rest of Bampton has just enough to fill a couple of hours walking around finding places from Downton Abbey, and there's a couple of cozy pubs and a... More

We booked THe Coach House with a Smartbox voucher relatively late, but a room was available and initial impressions were that the owners were very friendly. On arrival, our room and hosts did not disappoint. We were offered a cup of tea and shown to our room. We stayed in the Saddle room which was exactly the style of place... More

What a treat this stay was,we booked on spec as a stopover on our journey for a cruise. Robin and Pip were wonderful, warm, welcoming hosts. We were greeted with a cuppa and a slice of delicious cake. We were shown to our room a delightfully quirky room with complimentary sherry and flapjacks and everything you could wish for in... More

We just spent a night at The Coach House and it was such a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We had a really warm welcome from Robin with tea and cake, and our room was huge with complimentary sherry and flapjacks. Breakfast was incredible, cooked to order in front of you while you enjoy the papers in a country kitchen. Highly... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay with Robin and Pip.......Lovely house and a warm welcome. The Sleigh Room was so comfortable with quality bedding....we slept well on both nights. The breakfast was so delicious, cooked in front of us in their huge kitchen. I had Eggs Benedict and my partner chose Croque Madame.....the following day we had Full English... More

We were fortunate enough to have been gifted a Smartbox voucher for our anniversary & opted for a stay at The Coach House due to the stellar tripadvisor reviews. Our stay did not disappoint. From Robin's very warm welcome upon our arrival, to the magnificent breakfast just before departure and all the special touches (sherry, flapjacks, real milk etc.) in... More

My fiancé and I stayed here for an overnight break using a smartbox voucher. We had a very warm welcome from Robin with tea and home made lemon drizzle cake, yum! Robin recommended local pubs and booked us a table for our evening meal at the only restaurant within walking distance in the village - The Biztro (amazing food, lovely... More

Stayed for one night. Lovely guest house and super comfortable room and bed. The owner was amazingly friendly and cooked us a fantastic breakfast. Widget the resident dog is adorable. Went for dinner in Biztro in the village which was first class. All in all an amazing weekend escape.

Had a warm welcome from Robin on arrival and he was friendly during our one night stay. Breakfast was good, enjoyed our omlettes though we would have liked something served with it, baked beans maybe looked a little lonely on the plate on its own! Enjoyed the little extra touches of sherry and flapjacks in the room.

I stayed for one night in the Sleigh Room on October 10th. Host Robin pulled in as I arrived. He made me feel very welcome and carried my case to my room. Offered me tea and invited me to help myself to the sherry and flapjacks which were kindly provided in the room along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate.... More

There really is no excuse for dust on the bedside table, or cobwebs in the ceiling lights. I tried to sack the chambermaid, but my wife, who normally looks for any excuse to trade me in for a new model, decided that sacking myself was going a touch too far. So I offer my apologies, cite the fact that we... More
