Loved this hotel, it really gives one a feel of past glory, while still maintaining its charm, efficiency and classy decor, not to mention the extensive and beautiful shady park that goes right down to the sea with only a wall separating ti from the seaside promenade that runs right around the cliffs of Castiglioncello. This unique position is due... More

Having recently celebrated it's 100 year anniversary this little bit of history still has the charm of when it was first created.Set in magical park like gardens overlooking the sea you actually step back in time. The hotel played host to Winston Churchill and a group of Amercan Generals after the liberation of Italy, there is a photograph of Winston... More

This is a good quality, character hotel. The building is beautiful and my bedroom was excellent, recently refurbished. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast good. Its location is excellent, right next to the sea. The hotel's gardens were attractive and you could sit out viewing the sea on one of the loungers. Castiglioncello is a charming, small resort. I... I stayed here in September 2012 so end of season but what an unexpected joy. I came with hubby (he was going there for work) and offspring and I tagged along to have a last minute holiday. The hotel harks back to a golden era of cocktails, art deco and celebs and while it could do with some revamping (a... More

I lived 6 months in Castagnetto Caruduci which is three stops from this place in 2006. I visited here then but never stayed at a hotel. Since it's such a wonderful small town by the sea, I decided to stay this go around at this hotel. This is where Churchill stayed for a meeting with the Italian government officials in... More

What a surprise awaited us. Miramare Hotel is lovely! Its like going back to the 50s and 60s of olde world charm and simplicity. It has a lot of history too and many famous people have stayed there, including Winston Churchill. We loved it and it was such a change from sterile ultra modern hotels with no character. A typical... More

My daughter and newborn grandson decided to get out of Firenze for a day by the sea. By chance, it took us longer to vacate her home, so arrival in Castiglioncello was early afternoon on a Saturday. We knew right away we NEEDED to stay overnight, the town is so beautiful with interesting shops and cafe's. Our 2nd try at... More

The basic impression about this place – because it is more than a hotel, is tranquility, elegance and smell of the pines and the sea which is like a concentrated perfume! I don’t feel smell like this one anywhere else. It is because of more than 100 years old pines all around Castiglionchelo, and also in the wonderful garden off... More

The hotel has a brilliant position next to the sea, and upon request we were given a room with a sea view. It is a 5 minute walk from the beach, and adjacent to the harbour. The staff were really helpful, the breakfast simple but nice, and the entire hotel very tastefully decorated. Our room was exceptionally large and had... More
